Default Ripped DVD Video Not Playing

Hello all, I am a new user to the Media Portal community, and so far, I like the way it looks, but haven't been able to get it to work!

I ripped a couple of DVD's to my HDD, and then tried to play them in MP. I can navigate to the files just fine in the My Videos section, but when I try to play them, the screen goes black, and the ticker stays at 0:00. I ripped one DVD as a file (just IFO's) and one as a .vob with ifo's. Neither works. When I load them in Power DVD, however, they both play perfectly.

I tried loading Power DVD's decoders into MP's configuration, but it made no difference. I also tried to set Power DVD up as an external player, but it looked like it was still the internal MP player?

Here's my setup:

AMD 2800+
768 MB RAM
HDD 0 - 40 GB (System)
HDD 1 - 80 GB (Storage)
OPT 0 - DVD Reader
OPT 1 - CDRW
ATI Radeon 7000
Windows XP Home

That's pushing it graphics wise, but if the Mediaportal GUI hangs or is slow do not be surprised

For no video look here and see if this could be your problem.

XP\Vista known issues With Mediaportal.

Yeah, I know that the gfx card is awfully slow. I have an old ti4400 I can throw in. That has 128 MB VRAM, and I'll try upping the RAM too.

Thanks for the speedy reply!

Graphic card should be DX9 (highly recommended - actually listed as "required"). This mens nVidia5200 or newer/above and R9500/9600 and newer/above (not 92xx) (+ some IGPs)
