Default Set Default language and Subtitles for OGM/MKV playback

Hi there, been having a problem, and it's getting a little annoying.

When playing back MKV or OGM files, i have the option of choosing which language i use, and which subtitles i use. But at the same time i'd like to set some kind of default as to what is selected when playback starts.

As i'm english speaking native, i'd like English with no subtitles. The Haali Media splitter seems to have an option to select which it picks first, but this seems to be ignored, unless i'm doing something wrong.

I'd appreciate any ideas, i've searched for this, and i can't find any concrete answers, do i need to use another media splitter?

Currently using RC3.

Edit forgot to post system info:

Done a little more testing and updated my version of Haali media splitter, when playing through media player classic, the default options seem to stick, but when running through MP, it's still not whats selected as default. Tested with RC3 and RC4.

The language preference is not used/called anywhere in MP code.
see http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=8677 for reference.

Thanks for that, but i'm no programmer, from your response, it sounds as though selecting a default audio option is impossible with the current version of MP, although it's annoying, i have the option of selecting which i want, which is more than i'd get from MCE, i even tried Meedio(what a piece of junk).

Looks as though i'm stuck until someone makes an update or adds the necessary code into MP

hi,

perhaps you should post a small note into the "feature request" portion of the forum.

bye

if you don't NEED the other stream, better take it off the file altogether - it will also make the file size smaller

look for AVImux GUI on Google

...never thought I would advertise MP around that much, so soon...
(and when some dev adds better menu handling, multiple calls to modules and plugins with different options and much better dbase handling, it will be love... ah and a nice 3D front end and inter-module messaging system and...)

Not an option, i would rather change languages than remove it. I've watched some series in both English Japanese, and would like to continue to do so.

I'll add it into the suggestions forum.
