| Latest tvserver & latest MP 1. Just installed DScaler5 0.8, and launched MP, but the tv picture was jumping from left to right very fast, seeing 2 ghostly flickering images about 100 pixels apart. i swap dscaler interlace mode to Weave and it looked good, except for combing with movement (weave=not a good choice, i want bob right?). 2. ffdshow shows in the list of mpeg2 decoders, but never gets used at runtime (instead it intelligentlyconnects to the next best non-ffdshow decoder there is) 3. When I started this post, MP was loaded in background as a window in My TV, TV was off.. but writing in this textbox was entering at 1 char per second (veryyy lagged). as soon as i quit MP, it types like normal again. I have q6600 cpu and nvidia 8500gt 1gb. 4. I've been told i need an updated quartz.dll to help with my random freeze-forever bug. Where do i get this from? I am xp pro sp3. Thanks! |

Country: | Best version of DScaler was version 5.06, after that there where problems, which was the version supplied in the original MP install. FFDShow is not a mpeg2 decoder, will do postprocessing very well when added though. Quote:

| Just installed DScaler 5.06, but when i try and open its filter properties, nothing happens (and ffdshow icon becomes nonresponsive). Ever heard of that problem? Ffdshow is an mpeg2 decoder - it comes with 2 different ones to choose from. And it's listed in the mpeg2 drop down - as well as the post-filter selections. Windowed directx = buggy, fair enough. Damn microsoft. BDA\DVB hotfix link does not include any such quartz.dll. I've been told by devs I need updated quartz. I already have and use that bdafix. |

| I would assume that SP3 comes with the up to date quartz.dll (but havent checked as I havent got any XP machines left).
