Country: | Hello. I created small package with Audio/Video filter and Subtitles filter for MP (SAF). It is ''all in one'' solution, so no need to install PowerDVD or any other kind of codecspacks (like CCCP), ffdshow, etc... You will be able to play almost all standart videofiles+DVD's. Install procedure: -you need to be loged as an administrator ! -uninstall useless players&codecs packs like PowerDVD, DivX player, Nero, CCCP, any kind of codescpacks, players, etc... -install MediaPortal -install Haali media splitter - do not enable avi support! ![]() -place CLVsd.ax on "C:\" root if you wan to use it -install SAF -configure MP (Movie & DVD section) acording to screenshots below -you should install some on-the-fly DVD decrypter (look on google) for playback of protected DVD's, skip comercials, silent your DVD drive, etc... With SAF you can play almost all standart video files in MediaPortal. HD video will be using DXVA if your hadware are suporting DXVA. HD video + subtitles will not use DXVA (no solution yet) Mpeg2/LiveTV/DVD video will be using DXVA only when you use PoverDVD MPEG2 ''CLVsd.ax'' (SAF 3.11+) SAF is designed for playing MKV files on HD (1280*720) resolution. SAF is designed and configured only for MediaPortal, you can see some side efect when using with different software (like WMP,...) If you have your video files in avi format, you should consider to put them in to MKV container (this doesn't change quality, just container). MKV format have many positives:
If you reinstall MediaPortal or install new SVN, reinstall SAF too! SAF will install & configure for you: MPC-HC filters: v.1.2.920.0 (Beta!) -AviSplitter.ax -FLVSplitter.ax -MpaDecFilter.ax -Mpeg2DecFilter.ax -MPCVideoDec.ax -MpegSplitter.ax -VSFilter.dll v.2.39 (28.10.2008) Changelogs: v.2.00 - Now it automaticly configure filters! v.2.10 - I found an bug in extraction procedure, it is fixed in ver.2.10! v.2.20 - uninstaler added (run executable again to uninstall) v.2.21 - Installer now clean old DirectVobSub config, HD resolution fixed, "update" routine added v.2.22 - Resize bug fixed, subtitles font increased, rename to SAF, added warning about Catalyst drivers v.2.23 - Ability to choose TV type - HD/Full HD for subtitles optimalization v.2.24 - DirectVobSub updated (ver.28.08.2008), warning about catalyst updated v.2.25 - Installer now clean old PowerDVD config in registry for MediaPortal v.2.30 - This is big update..
v.2.50 - Another big update:
v.3.01 - MPC-HC filters updated to v.1.1.866.0 v.3.02 - MPC-HC filters updated to v.1.1.875.0 v.3.03 - MPC-HC filters updated to v.1.1.890.0
v.3.11 - MPC-HC filters updated to v.1.1.906.0, enabled DXVA for MPEG2/DVD/LiveTV SD when using ''CLVsd.ax'' v.3.12 - WMV HD video decoding is now handled by MPC-HC decoder = DXVA enabled! v.3.13 - MPC-HC filters updated to v.1.2.920.0, DirectVobSub updated to v2.39 (28.10.2008) v.3.14 - MPC-HC filters updated to v.1.2.929.0, DirectVobSub updated to v2.39 (29.11.2008) v.3.15 - MPC-HC filters updated to v.1.2.934.0 ^^^^ Download Suported codecs: (SAF 2.30+) ![]() +Adobe Flash (*.FLV) Subtitles support: AVI + subtitles - supported MKV/MOV/MP4 + subtitles - not supported, you need put subtitles inside MKV by MKVmerge If you want to change color of MKV/MOV/MP4 subtitles, you need to do it in MediaPortal. After installation configure your mediaportal video decoding this way (SAF 3.00+): Video: ![]() DVD: - some DVD's are not working correctly with Microsoft DVD Navigator (for example DVD's authored by Womble software. ![]() - i suggest you to use PowerDVD 8 MPEG2 decoder becouse of much better picture quality&DXVA deinterlacing. I added support in SAF 3.10+, you only need to place PowerDVD MPEG2 decoder (CLVsd.ax) on "C:\" root, and reinstall SAF 3.10+. File will be detected and used instead of MPC-HC MPEG2 decoder. Look on end of this post to find how to extract CLVsd.ax from PowerDVD software. Here are graphs: Video (DXVA enabled if supported by hardware): ![]() Video + Subtitles (DXVA disabled by subtitles): ![]() Maybe this can help to somebody. !!! important !!! To play HD video/DVD with DXVA: Check if you have DXVA compatible hardware. If you have WinXP + ATI, use Catalyst 8.5, or you will see nice BSOD, freezes, etc 8.6-8.9 is not working in WinXP!!! If you have Vista + Ati, 8.8 is fine. More info about DXVA and MPC-HC: http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/DXVASupport.html If you have integratet GPU (like ATI HD3200), be sure you update your MotherBoard BIOS to latest version and assign max. shared memory to GPU in BIOS) To add support for RealMedia and Quicktime files into MP: Install Real Media Alternative for Real Media files. Install Quicktime Alternative for Quicktime support How can i know what filters are in use in MP? Use Graphstudio - RadScorpion’s blog MONOGRAM GraphStudio Start MP in window mode. Start GraphStudio and File->Connect to remote graph and click connect (should be working on Vista too) If you install and setup SAF and you have some more filters when playing standart video, there is something wrong with your system... How can i configure audio output? Here: ![]() How to extract PowerDVD MPEG2 ''CLVsd.ax'' decoder? (for "CyberLink.2217D_TaRe38_On_DVD080924-02.exe" version. - Get PowerDVD software here. - I sugest to do it in Total Commander - Rename "CyberLink.2217D_TaRe38_On_DVD080924-02.exe" to "CyberLink.2217D_TaRe38_On_DVD080924-02.zip" - Double click to look inside "CyberLink.2217D_TaRe38_On_DVD080924-02.zip" - Double click to "Data1.cab" - look for "_786F63D7CB56475897FB0D45EC005920" file and extract it on your "C:\" root - rename "_786F63D7CB56475897FB0D45EC005920" to "CLVsd.ax". - Done! Problems: I cannot play some *.ts files/My HDTV don't work! Well, there is a problem between MP internal TS splitter and MPC-HC decoder, look here: http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/1-...08/#post305001 Solution? Rename your *.ts files to MKV or MP4 - this will disable internal ts splitter, and Haali doo the work. No solution for HDTV yet... ![]() Bad playback of VC-1 videos from Samsung Camcorders on SAF+MP in fullscreen and VMR9 Well this only happend on Catalyst 8.6+ Here more info: VC-1 playback in Fullscreen Solution? Use Catalyst 8.5. I have 1px border around whole picture! Well, this is very wierd problem. It only happend on videos witch don't have subtitles (MPC decoder is directly connected to VMR9/EVR) and video need to be resized a lot (let's say from 624x352 to 1280x720) If there are subtitles (and DirectVobSub are loaded), problem disapear. I believe it is somehow related to video resizing/color format. More info:http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/co...-<br /> 44990/ Here is an video example: terminator.the.sarah.connor.chronicles.S01E09-001.zip Solution? Well, there are two possibilites. 1) put subtitles into file (so DirectVobSub is loaded and problem disapear) 2) put DirectVobSub in MediaPortal configuration post processing. Do this only if you have powerfull CPU, becouse this will kill DXVA for all videos... I have bad video quality when playing DVD's and MPEG video. Yes, it is becouse SAF included MPEG decoder is not perfect, but it is free. If you want better video quality, you need to install some comercial MPEG decoder (like PowerDVD, nVidia PureVideo.Decoder, etc) I have AVI file with two (or more) audio tracks inside. I hear all of them in MP! Yes. This is not supported. You have few options: 1) - the best solution is to convert your AVI to MKV - this will fix all problems. 2) - you can enable AVI support in Haali (but this will disable AVI+subtitles) 3) - you can add MediaPortal audio switcher to postprocessing. You will hear only first audio track now Enjoy! HOBORG PS: sorry for my english Last edited by hoborg; 2008-12-22 at 14:49. |

Country: | hi, i just tried your package and everything installed fine. however, hardware acceleration is not working . i also read somewhere that VSfilter autoloading needs to be disabled. so when i changed to No in the Haali settings, i always get a bluescreen when trying to play mkv files in MP. once i switch on autoloading vsfilter, everything works fine again but no hardware acceleration. what can i do? |

Country: | Hello. What OS do you have? Do you have Ati graphic card? My package is configured OK, no need to change anything to have DXVA - Bluescreen = wrong drivers! If you have ATI + WinXP you need to use older Catalyst 8.5 - is last DXVA working driver (i will post link to them next day) In Vista, use Catalyst 8.8+, it works fine. No experience with nVidia cards... Last edited by hoborg; 2008-09-14 at 11:34. |

I can add option for HD/FullHD, i think it is no problem. It simply multiplay video resolution x2, then render subtitles = beter quality subtiles. If you have video in in 624x352, it will be automaticly doubled to 1248x704. That's the trick. | |
