Country: | I use RC4 with the latest SVN and I could use some sugestions from someone with some experience in configuring ffdshow for postprocessing. I have an A64 Venice running on 2,7Ghz watercooled and 1GB of memory so I believe there should be enough power for some pq enhancements. I already use ffdshow for postprocessing DVD with good results and near-DVD quality videofiles also gives a good picture. I am currently experimenting with various ffdshow setting when using myTV (signal source is analog cable through an ATi Theatre 550 from Sapphire) since I'm not 100% satiesfied with picture quality. Since I'm far from an expert on ffdshow I have experimented with 'Blur & nr' and 'Resize' settings I have found in various guides on av/htpc forums. In some scenes, specially bright scenes, it gives a very good result, but in other scenes it seems that the grain/noise in the picture is enhanced as well and the end result may even look worse than the original. I have tried resizing the picture even more and playing around with 'Blur & NR' settings, but I still haven't got a result I am satisfied with. I'm not expecting a miracle either, but I belive it should be possible to get a better result. So does anyone have any suggestions? Also, what ffdshow build do other use? I know 20041012 is the recommended build for MP, but I did have some issues with it so I found 20050303-sse to be more stable. Later builds will for some reason not work with MP. As far as I can see only 20041012 is available with sse2 support, does anyone know how much this will impact performance as I have an sse3 capable cpu? the build I'm using seems to be a terrible drain on cpu resources... I hope anyone can help me :-) - Judaz -

| can't help you out with it, but when you figured it out, please put your experiences step by step in the tips part of the forum. I also want ffdshow to process my analoge tv, but don't know where to start. And i think many people feel the same way. |

Country: | You might want to check out this thread (if you got a week to spare...) http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/print...2&page=1&pp=30 All there is to know about ffdshow. It's focused on Zoomplayer, but very applicable to MP as well. Good luck, Hans

| i once followed, this one; http://htpcnews.com/main.php?id=ffdshowdvd_1 Works very well with zoomplayer, but not with mediaportal. I think it is a version issue as you mention quit old versions in this thread. Maybe i give it another try with one of the versions mentioned. |
