VFD display will not work... :-(

Synopsis::

I hope someone can help me... i have tried everything i could find mentioned in this forum.... nothing works, but i keep getting told that it should.
I know the display works because it works with MCE ok.
I am trynig to get VFD to work. It is built into a Zalman HD160 case. It uses IRTrans Software and is connected via internal USB header.
I have tried the External Display plugin, all port settings, etc....
Nothing works...

Use the MCE Display plug-in. It does work, I use the same.

thanks a lot this works fine.

I ask me why the default external display plugin not work with
VFD Displays. I think this is a important function for MP.A lot of
people use Origen/Dign/Zalman cases. Perhaps a MP Developer can
fix this.

On thing I found at MCE Display is that it shows no television channel
information on the Display. Is this not supported?

Actually it does if you use one with a HD44780 compatible chip .

Just wondering though is it possible to be able to edit the messages as it comes up Welcome to XP Media Center and it would be nice to have Media Portal instead

I couldnet get the backlight working though but found if i enabke irtrans in external displays as well it powers up the backlight

Can somebody outline how to get the MCE plugin to work with the iMon VFD? I have followed the tips here but to no avail.

(Actually, I have a Thermaltake MediaLab, but believe this to be the same).

Any ideas?
