Default What is the difference between ffdshow and ffdshow tryouts?

I see both of these on sourceforge.

And the documentation is... lacking badly

So... does anyone know what the deal is with these two projects?

"tryouts" is newer, seems to have more activity as of late.

For me the best thing with tryouts is that the sound capability is updated, so i can use a external reciever for all output and mix the sound to all 5.1 speakers correctly.
It also has better H264 anc ACC support.

Personally, my processor utilization on a Core2Duo dropped DRAMATICALLY! Their site also says that they have fixed 50 defects from the latest ffdshow release.

Here's some info: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=120465

I just ran across ffdshow tryouts 2 days ago but it has literally made an incredible impact in the performance on my PC.
