Hello.

When i use media portal to play dvd movies, the screen just goes black at the main menu of the movie, its pretty wierd, i was thinking about trying to re-install VLC player, as i think that might be the default player / maybe the problem, have any of you guys tryed something like this before?? its pretty anoying when i want to watch a movie, takes like 10 min's to get it to stop with the back screen.

Have you guys tried updating DirectX. Black or green screens over playback is often DirectX... Update to 10

Oops... sorry bout that... still update as high as you can go...

Also you should totally update to vista... the pros outweigh the cons in my opinion...

mickzilla try to use k-lyte codec pack or you can use vlc to play them like i do since it plays most types of media like iso. just go into movie player options and choose use external player and set vlc as external player. im new to portal but i can tell you one thing, "im lovin it"... good luck.

Vista sucks... until you shut down a whole lot of "security utilities" or whatever one should call them, Then Vista rules!
