Default Winamp volume

Is there any way to stop MP resetting the volume for Winamp?

MP sets the Winamp volume to about 35-40%. If I change the volume to what I want, then when the next track begins the volume is changed back down to 35-40% again.

Can I get MP to leave the Winamp volume alone?

No idea... this has been bothering me too, really annoying... Makes using Winamp a right pain in the ***, but I need my EQ presets from Winamp...

MediaPortal Version: 0.2.0.4
Windows Version: 5.111

Is anyone else suffering from this?

Are we the only ones who are being affected by this, or are others not seeing it but are not worried by it?

You are not alone. I suffer from this also. I use the Winamp VolumeLogic plugin which advises Winamp vol being cranked up to max and use VolumeLogic to control the actual volume.

It doesn't seem to be as detrimental to me as it is to you guys though coz I can live with it. I just need to turn the volume up more than I would normally when listening to music.

Definitely a bothersome problem. Cranking the volume up on the amp instead of at the source kills quality.

Can someone fix this? It seems like it should be pretty easy!

Found a fix! Disable volume control in Winamp:

Prefs > Plugins > Output > DirectSound > config > Other tab
Uncheck "Enable volume control".
