Default x264 .mkv files will not open

These types of movie play fine in Media Player 10 but will not open in media portal. Anyone else have this problem and fixed it?

I am using Haali media splitter and CoreAVC as the codec.

Many thanks if you can help :?

I'm using core avc and Haali media splitter and I can play .mkv without problem in Media Portal, so at least it's possible

I did not try the Core AVC on my HTPC, but I know just installing Core AVC is not enough, you have to add the decoder in the Media Player Classic for example via the options menu.
How can I solve this using Media Portal?

I recently got a file .mkv and couldn't play it via MP, I installed "lazy mans mkv" and went add .mkv to mp's list but it was already there, haven't had any troubles with .mkv files

dunno if it's k to link but here's the link to Lazy Man MKV
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Lazy_Man_MKV.htm

apologies if I'm not supposed to link.
hope it help.
