Synopsis::

Files encoded with Xvid drift out of sync in a few seconds. If I fast forward 15 seconds, it syncs again but then drifts once more. These files play correctly in WMP outside of MP.

Is ffdshow postprocessing turned on in your configuration? Turing it off could help.
If you don't have ffdsow installed.. installing it could help too. It's included in the K-Lite Mega codec pack.

Thanks for that. I don't ffdshow installed, so i'll give that a go.

Also, you should check the settings of your Movie Audio. The renderer should be the default device. I think you have to set this in the configuration of MP gui.
I'm going from memory here, so I may be a little out...
