Default MediaPortal Feature Freeze and Skin Editor

Feature Freeze
MediaPortal 1.1.0 is entering its final stage of development. This means that on the 1st of October, a Feature Freeze will start.
So starting with that date, we will not add any more new features, only bugfixes will be done.
But for these bugfixes there are also limits. This means that we might not be able to fix all issues, since major code changes always mean to risk to introduce a lot of more new issues.

We plan to release a Release Candidate during October. The target release date for 1.1.0 stable is still December 2009.
Skineditor
Since a few weeks NoBugS, a member of our community, is working on a new SkinEditor for MediaPortal 1.
His application is in a early state of development, but it already looks very promising.
What he needs is the feedback of our Community Developers, so that he can provide them with the tool they need.

Please have a look at the ::development thread:: and take a look.

So, what will it mean for Win7 and dxva ?. Is Mp 1.1 going to be Win7 compatible, or is it one of those things under "Open question".
Or are you waiting for CoreAvc 2.0 with fullscreen cuda under Win7 ?.

regards,

If you would have read the previous news, you would know that W7 compatibillity is one of the biggest changes in 1.1.0.

1.1.0 beta (latest svn)+Win7+Radeon 4670+unlocked saf=DXVA running perfect. This combination runs like hell and there are absolute no problems. MP runs rocksolid here.

Are you using MP with Win7 32 or 64 bit?

Whether there will be a TV parental control in v.1.1.0?
This question repeatedly rose in discussions, but and has not found support.

In my humble opinion, the code freeze should have been set in place 4 months ago, as it seems that MP is trying to integrate more and more features and forgetting about usability and speed.

I really can't wait for a beta release of meediOS (which should be several fold faster than MP and will hopefully give MP some direction for their future development).
