Well just an update to say all is well. After the last deletion of all guide data in both TvS and TVE3, no other changes, still syncing with EPG.

Thanks for the replies.

I've already given a bunch of clues if you followed this thread actually

Excellent, so for some reason TVE3 is now also importing your guide correcty. Good! Do you use DVB-EPG on channels that you don't have XMLTV data on? Otherwise I would still recommend you turn of the EPG syncing.

It's difficult to say, don't always have enough time to work on it and we'd like to release something that is as stable as possible.

First release may lack some features, but I think most will prefer that over something that has all the features you can shake a stick at, but crash all the time

So I'm afraid I'll I can say for now is: stay tuned...

And for the record: you can quote me on that

Absolutely, stability is key for me and I'm in no rush, I'd much rather you release it when it's ready. I don't want to have to come on here and moan about how your software destroyed my Media PC, set my house on fire and ate my hamster!

Hi and great work!

Your plug-in looked were interesting so I thought I give it a try.

I installed TvScheduler yesterday and are now expericing the following error on start up in the log book,

“.Net Runtime 2.0 Error

Eventid 5000

EventType clr20r3, P1 tvservice.exe, P2 1.0.0.18557, P3 47f6ecda, P4 tvscheduler.serviceagents, P5 1.0.15.0, P6 4797b14d, P7 24, P8 0, P9 system.nullreferenceexception, P10 NIL.”

Also when trying to start regular Mediaportal and watch Live Tv, the CPU goes to almost 100 % with the main process being System and user SYSTEM and the picture stutters. After a while the picture hangs and CPU goes back to normal usage.

Before installing your software the Tv Server run without a problem for couple of days. Made 3 recordings and also had no problem watching the Live TV.

Any ideas what could have gone wrong for me?

This is run on an Intel Pentium 2160 1,6 GHz dualcore machine with 2 GB of memory. Operating system being WinXp Pro SP2 (Swedish) fully updated, including .Net Framework 1-3 including service packs. The database is SQL Server Express.

The Mediaportal version is 2008-04-05 and TV3 Server the same date.

Followed your instructions on the first page. All channel successfully linked in the TV Server Plugin.

This is run on an Intel Pentium 2160 1,6 GHz dualcore machine with 2 GB of memory. Tv card is a Hauppauge PVR 150 MCE running the UK drivers package 4.2. Videocard is Ati x1300 with latest 8.3 drivers.

I'm getting the same error;
EventType clr20r3, P1 tvservice.exe, P2 1.0.0.18436, P3 47f0549e, P4 tvscheduler.serviceagents, P5 1.0.15.0, P6 4797b14d, P7 24, P8 0, P9 system.nullreferenceexception, P10 NIL.

After a reboot the system takes forever to become visible on the intranet with several periods of 100% cpu usage (on one core).
The tvservice wont start outright - see the error above. I "solved" this problem by letting the service attempt to restart 3 times with 1 minute delay. You can do this in under "services". Eventually the service starts up and the system functions ok. But something is definately wrong.

Edit: But thumps up for the program! I was ready to abandon Media Portal when I discovered that it diden't support wildcard recordings (at least I cant find it). But then I found this lovely program. :-)

I have the same issue during start up. It takes about 4 minutes to launch the network service with tv scheduler installed and the tv3 service fails completely. I use the scheduler plugin for TV3 to synchronize the EPG and I assume because of this the TVserver can only start if TVScheduler service is already running. Anyway it only happens if both services (TVScheduler&TVService) are set to start automaticall which is the default value.

As a workaround you could set both services to start maually in service manager and instead use a script in the autostart folder:

NET START TVScheduler
NET START TVService

For me it works pretty well.

This is really really weird, all the TV Scheduler service does initially is start up some WCF service hosts. So I can't explain this delay.

The next incarnation of TV Scheduler will have a different way of controlling TVE3, so in any case this problem should go away then...

Hi everyone and thanks for the replies!

Will try your solutions so that I can start record again. Also saw the changes that are coming on the main Mediaportal page and will wait for the release to become stabil and I full confidence that Dvdfreak will make a working soultion for the new package.

Best regards
