Ofcourse i want to participate and help you help the community but first i need to understand my system. As you can read i'm fresh in my new hardware and the remote/lcd stuff is also a bit blurry.. got most of it working thanks to your plugin but i also still use the default imon manager keymapping. Your plugin works for the remote but the response is slow. I visited your topic to let you know i'm here and i want to help out. The wishes I express in MY topic are just a todo list for what i feel is missing regarding my situation and in no way am I just waiting around for you to make it magically happen. That's also the reason why i didn't post it in the CybrDisplay topic. by the looks of YOUR current thread you are busy with the keyboard/mouse functionality and so i didn't want to butt in and let you continue your current session. My intention was, and still is btw, to help you in any way with the IMON development but not before i can provide you with "clean data". I'm still pushing software around on my machine and trying out different nog IMON related configurations that might interfere with testing your plugin (maybe not technically but when i test something i find i useful to be dedicated to one thing at a time). To make things clear - no hard feelings.. I will soon have time to join your IMON taskforce and help the community out! o and eh.. for the plugin so far ![]() Last edited by armandp; 2008-04-14 at 23:27. |

As it happens, I'm going on holidays next week, so will be shy from participating properly until end May. If it's OK with you, I'll come back them with informed comments! |

Excellent thread man... I have almost the exact same build I am working on. I just have a different processor (would have gone for one of the BE's or one of the newer 4850e's but the 4400+ that I got was only $60 at the time), only 2GB of ram (Corsair XMS2 6400), LG GGC-H20L dual HD format drive, and I haven't chosen a Tuner card yet. I'll be outputting to an Onkyo HT-S894 5.1 system through HDMI and then out to a Westinghouse 37in. display.
Question: I don't fully understand why you are going for full software instead of hardware acceleration? I thought the reason for getting this mobo was for its GPU hardware acceleration and decoding abilities. All my parts have arrived except for the 780g and Hard drive... I'm itching to start building lol. |

But i want to be able to handle software also (don't need to, just want too). There are a couple of issues on certain media that won't HA and that's where software decoding with CoreAVC can come in handy Originally i wanted the 4850E also but it wasn't available here yet so i went for the BE-2400. I didn't even had the intention to OC the little bastard but it worked.. +23% (@ 2x2800mhz) and system is stable So now the CPU is also fully capable of handling 1080p content that can't be accelerated .Also the reason why i disable hardware acceleration in MyTV (mpeg2 only, not HD) is because i have an "issue" with deinterlacing when enabled (disabling it just looks better). This is because of a setting i have yet to figure out, untill then HA stays of on SD TV.

Hi,
Very good overview about your system. I'm going to order a 780G / 4850e based one next week, firs only for MP3 and pictures... One question about the Digital Everywhere DVB-C FloppyDTV + AlphaCrypt card: I'm going to change my cable provider to UPC soon (they just started HD broadcast in Hungary in this month, currenty 3 cahhels from the ~80). The best solution would be this tuner card, if it is working with UPC. How could I find out if this card is working for me or not? Theoretically UPC is going to provide a Phillips HD DVR (or whatever it is caled). It was written in an UPC forum, that the SetTopBox and the card is paired, to there is no chance to use the card in anonther STB. Maybe is it possi ble somehow, to read the necessary codes, using the PC, the to define it somewhere to get it work? Sorry for the naive questions, I1ve never had a TV Tuner card, and all the CI, DVB-C new for me - just reading differnt forums. So, any suggestions are welcomed! T. |

I believe that the FloppyDTV DVB-C solution for UPC here in Holland does NOT work but i don't know if it is the same in your country. You'd better check with someone in Hungary or on the FloppyDTV forums.

Hi, i am about to build the exact same setup. I am gonna set it up with my Onkyo TX-SR605ES and my panasonic PTA900.
I hope to be able to use hdmi for video and sound !. I have some questions seeing we are gonna have the same setup. 1 - i am gonna use the harmony 555 to control my htpc, my ampli and my projector. What ir receiver do you use? if it is the one from the antec fusion, is it working well? i read bad reviews about it. Moreover what do you use to configure it on your pc? you say you cant do everything MCE does, ,what do you miss for example?(i never had an MCE remote, still am with my old pinnacle remote with pcTVremote )2 -i see you use" CybrDisplay External Status Plugin", it is for displaying infos on the antec fusion LCD? I might have other question while building my setup ![]() Thanks |

I use it for LCD display yes (works great) - there's an experimental remote option in the plugin that will make the remote work also but it's experimental and in my case the remote response time is very slow when i use it. BUT.. this experimental option is being moved into another project called IR Server. They are currently in the middle of IMON testing so see those topics if you want to know about the progress.
