| I bought the complete package in the picture at the same time. (you can see some of the speakers in the picture) So I had to do some thinking where most of the money needed to go. In the end I bought the Canton Movie 150-QX black. I had to find something that did not take up too much space and did not draw too much attention. I had to hide things. Movie 150 QX - Movie Series - CANTON pure Music (en) I am very pleased with the result. People have said that they have never heard anything this good. :p The TV is on EFW 6245 LCD wall support ( Vogel's » Consumer » Details ) |

| <quote> 23-04-2007: Another reason to want to have software decoding support is the fact that currently if I want to use subtitles (DirectVobSub), DXVA get's disabled. I have read in another topic that Media Player Classic has a custom EVR method to use subtitles and DXVA so I think it's a matter of time before this will also be possible with other players (MP internal). </quote> Is this really the case? I currently cannot use subs + dxva at the same time? |

| Portal Member | Yes every post-processing filter (like DirectVobSub) will disable DXVA

This is only a client machine, so the tuner is in the server in the living room. | |

| Hi thanks for a very informative tread. I'm planing to buy an Imon VFD to my HTPC. Therefore I have a few questions: 1. Is it easy to navigate through Mediaportals menu's without turning on the TV? I mean, if I want to hear music, I don't want to turn on the TV in order to find the right music? Do you have a picture showing how the Mediaportal menu is drawn on the VFD-display? 2. I need to have a IR-transmitter (blaster) to change channels on my set-top box (I was planning of using a microsoft MCE remote with IR-receiver and transmitter). Do you think that this will be possible, or will the IMON device give any problems with that? Thanks Last edited by sbp; 2008-04-24 at 15:47. |

I also haven't tried navigating without the TV on but the functionality comes from the CybrDisplay plugin and is not really dependant on the kind of hardware.I don't think the IMON device will give you trouble blasting - but i don't know for sure. Maybe you could ask on the IMON support pages.

| Well I dropped the built in IR altogether (was having problems getting it to do what I wanted... a little tinfoil and some electrical tape and now I'm golden lol) and am solely using my MCE IR receiver along with Soundgraph. My only problem with my setup is the Deinterlacing of my ripped DVD's(not encoded... straight rips to Audio/Video_TS folders etc). I tried out the registry script that you linked to but it messed up my display output (widescreen was messed up and interlacing didn't look much better). I am using the CCC Pack rather than straight FFDshow etc. What settings did you use when running the script? I might be missing something in the installation instructions. |

| Portal Member | I just used all the settings of the ATI script.. and it gave me a slight improvement but not the one I was hoping for.. I removed all the settings later today. I still believe it's one of those settings though. Have to take some time to figure them all out. The hardware deinterlacing gives me a slight vibration on logo's/subtitles in SD content (TV only). I'm gonna update my first post with the settings i have for all the different codecs.. I don't have CCC installed because i'd rather set each codec up myself.
