Very good post; please keep us updated. I recognise a LOT of things!

BTW: how did you measure CPU temps on the BE-2400? I have a BE-2350 and I only can measure correct temps in the BIOS.

Well, I am using absolutely the same components (same version of CybrDisplay plugin, same version of iMON driver, same version of IR Serer Suite) and still experience exactly the same problem with IR remote as you originally had!

Could you kindly tell me HOW did you fix it?

I like your blog alot, it's very excuisite. But it's not very clear (overzichtelijk)

Do you have a RSS-supported blog?

It also would be easy to put things chronologically by date.
edit: I see you do on your mini-blog.

- I would definitely go for the phenom 9150E. Not sure what post-processing features actually do.
- Why do you like the receiver so much? I see it's expensive (599€)

btw: today I got my NSK2480 (h)

I probably will create a personal site/blog soon to blog my HTPC adventures lol The way i'm working this topic now is that I update the date in the existing section i edit and the general stuff below in the "mini-blog" - but i agree with you about not being very clear. This topic just blew up over the past couple of weeks

For a test and short explanation of the post-processing look here.

edit:
I missed your question about the receiver so here's my answer. I first read about it on http://www.mpcclub.com/.
They have a very good review on its predecessor (605) which you can read about in here. The 606 has got some extra features. Compared to other receivers this one has got it all the features i want, is quite "future proof" and doesn't cost a fortune (the price is pretty cheap compared to other receivers with the same capability). I got mine for € 505,- (link)
Just read the review it pretty much explains it all

The AVR _is_ complete; but you do are aware of the sound limitations of 780G ?

If you want 7.1CH audio, the only way is a an analog connection. For 5.1 you can use spdif. HMDI only outputs 2.0 PCM (stereo).

My first impression of this AVR is "WOW"... but do I need al those features?

If you read my first post carefully you'd know that i'm aware of the audio limitation of the 780G - blame me for being not clear on this I'm waiting for the proper soundcard that supports HDMI 1.3 There is a thread on the forums that has some links (see wishlist) to these audio devices. These devices would add the channels to the hdmi (probably by looping the output from the gpu through the sound processor). For now i settle with 5.1 ( i don't have 7 speakers anyway).

edit: btw you really got to me so i'm building a blog as we speak lol!

I'm outputting 5.1 DTS and AC3 through the onboard HDMI to my receiver. No limit to 2.0 stereo here.

I was setting the Cyberdisplay plugin manually to VFD as the display type instead of using Autodetect. The problem was that I have an Antec V2 with LCD. As soon as I set it manually to LCD all was good. Oops Now do you see why I was too embarrased to say what I was doing wrong? As for the remote, I followed the instructions on another page I think armandp gave me...Sorry, can't find it at the moment but I'll take another peak when I'm more alert...I'm pretty sure it's here in the thread somewhere.

LttlScamp, thank you for the quick reply! And don't be ashamed - we all make stupid mistakes every now and then ;-)

I would appreciate if you could manage to find that "remote troubleshooting guide" from armandp, but would also look for it myself - at least now I know what to look for! :-)

When I use Harmony 555 remote (impersonating MCE) together with iMON Manager with MediaPortal (CybrDiaplay disabled) everything works flawlessly with remote - fast clicks, no misses, no unwanted repeats, all keys are functional. Just display doesn't show anything useful :-)

When I turn on CybrDisplay with either iMON Manager or with IR Server Suite - display works fine and whows what it should, but remote doesn't work well - the delay between the keypress and action is way too long, so if you press the key shortly it is a miss but if you keep it pressed long enough it is a false repeat...
