| Portal Member | Yes, a touchscreen is definetely something cool to get but I feel that it does not provide good usability yet. How do you do it when a video is playing, does it show on the touchscreen as well? I would guess this is rather annoying, or isn't it? Cheers, jayrock |

| MP Donator ![]() | yeah the video shows also on the screen. But i´ve done a macro that turns of the touchscreen via the remote. So it works fine so far. The most annoying thing is controlling the Menus with the touchscreen. Are you also running a touchscreen?

| Portal Member | Currently, no. My current system has a VFD which is good but not perfect for navigating when the main screen (projector) is off. Check my system specs. Touchscreen is an upgrade that I've been thinking about for a while, but I have (maybe conflicting) requirements that make it hard to find a good solution. - The applications I use is music, with the projector off, and TV/Videos with the projector on - Case size and depth should be modest. The Silverstone GD02-MT is the only touchscreen case I found so far that doesn't come with a depth > 400mm. I acutally like the idea of having a compact touchscreen, but I'm uncertain about the resolution of 272x480 with the silverstone. Maybe this is too small to browse my music collection. - Since the case is postitioned just below the silver screen the touchscreen *must* be turned off when the projector is running. I saw in your profile that you are running an ATI video card. How does your macro work, are you using Catalyst profiles? From reading different forums I got the impression that ATI doesn't work well when displays are activated/deactivated. Can you confirm this? Cheers, jayrock |
