Country: | Well, as a programmer myself i spent two months writing my own HT program. Worked ok and thought it was pretty cool. But then i discovered Mediaportal. Why did i waste my time. Now i have a full blown HTPC. Heres what i used..... Mediaportal. $0.00 AU Hauppage HVR-1300 $200.00 AU MCE Remote & Blaster $65.00 AU MyBlaster MP plugin $0.00 AU An average PC with a video card supporting 2 video outputs. EPG guide from Australian Community-based TV Guide. So with all the items above i have... Full Australian EPG with Digital Stations & Foxtel. Foxtel channel changing. S-Video on HVR-1300 for recording say a camcorder or other device. I use the PC's main video output connected to my TV. I use the PC's second monitor for surfing and other PC applications while not interrupting what MP is doing. Everything works without a hitch. Anybody wanting more detail let me know. PS. Great Job Mediaportal programmers, and hell i can write my own plugins if i need to (cant think of one to write at the moment though). Matt |

Country: | The MCE Remote control comes with an IR blaster thats how you change channels with one remote for TV and Fox. Coupled with the MyBlaster plugin for MP. It works flawlessly. Yes i can watch, record and timeshift both TV and Fox. I love the way MP stores my watched TV or Fox programs, by program name not some obscure filename. You would not know they are seperate entities. Matt |

Country: | The HVR-1300 from Hauppage comes with a Digital/Analogue Aerial Input and an S-Video Input which is where the Foxtel box plugs into. |
