Yeah, I thought the same.
Seems it's no longer that required as the new motherboards appear to have SPDIF/COAX plugs on the rear port area.

FYI, closest I found it was Australia - but they all won't ship to NZ!

Where did you see the on board SPDID connector? Have just checked the the shuttle website SD30G2B and I can't see it?

Not mine, as it's an 'older' existing model.

But the likes of the SX48P2 E/DELUX has Coax and SPDIF.

The cheaper ones don't - as expected.

I'm using an older Shuttle 51G at the moment that has SPDIF in and out on board but it doesn't have the horse power for HD Blue Ray / HD DVD.

Hrmm, interesting.

Why they left SPDIF off the SD30G2 Plus is beyond me then.

Looks like you have had your system up and running now for a few weeks, have you had any problems or bugs with the hardware/software?

Only issue is getting PowerDVD 7 to intergrate with the Hauppauge remote and MediaPortal.
Got around that with what I did here:
Blu-Ray / HD-DVD Player with PowerDVD (a working solution)

Other than that, CoreAVS was a god send for decoding HD MKV's and everything else just works!

A friend replaced their 8800GT with a 9800GX2.
So I checked and it would fit in the case, so scored it for a cheap price!

I thought I might build a Racing wheel mount for the lounge and play GRID on it.
Plus it was half the going rate so couldn't pass it up.

Suprisingly it hasn't raised the operating tempreture, but the noise produced is a slight bit louder due to the fan.
But saying that, you can't hear it from the seats.

Also tested to see if HD MKV's, Blu-ray or HD-DVD's would increase the fan speed - and none did.
Even gaming on it didn't raise the fan speed.

One question:

Do you have any problem with BD profile 1.1 and PowerDVD?

Why i don't see a menu, and the movie run in her original versión (english). If i want audio spanish, must select emergent menu.

If you have any solution please MP,

I haven't had much luck intergrating the remote functions relating to the menus.
It'll pause and play happily - but I can't get it to bring up the inbuilt menus for subtitles and the like.

It works from the keyboard funly enough.
Been busy the last couple of months so haven't dug into it lately, hope to soon enough - really wantto get it working.
