Country: | Good evening! It has been quiet from my side since this summer. The work on Core has been suspended because of me getting married and that I have waited for 0.2.3 to be released. I recently came back from a 1 month backpacking honeymoon in Thailand and started working on Core again. First plan was to make a simple compatibility upgrade but it has become a new skin! Core philosophy but with inspiration from other great interfaces. The voting ended with 89% in favor of Core Reloaded so I did not have any choice... ![]() Design targets for the skin is to keep it simple. I want the skin to have a professional and sleek feeling without too much animations and eye candy. Target group for this skin is users with big widescreen tv's. For smaller lo-res screens there will probably be an issue with font sizes and so on... Download it here: http://www.team-mediaportal.com/file.../CoreReloaded/ Enjoy and comment away so I can start fixing bugs! Daniel Last edited by djohansson; 2007-12-17 at 15:21. Country: | First: Congratulations! Looks great! Perhaps you should include pics of Core1 for comparison. EDIT: Core"1"-thread http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/sk...re-t23160.html

Country: | I think the red color showing marked items should be blue, IMO it looks way better =) I also prefer the hidden menus of monochrome and xface. I like to hide them away because they have weird confusing names(for others using my mediaportal at parties etc.) You could risk the skin becoming very similiar to monochrome tho, but with the core icons it still stands out! Have you considered the video/music/various menus of monochrome? |

![]() The first ideas I had was to use the hidden menus like monochrome but I don't like that there are some hidden menus while most are still visible. To me it makes the skin irregular. For Core I am very careful to make ALL supported sections have the same feeling... I have tried to make the same sliding menus on other screens but there seems to be some limitations in the skin engine! (or in my skills...)

Country: | Well those limitations will probably be gone in mp2, and if we are lucky its here before christmas =) Hidden menus or not, ill give the new core a go anyways! Used the old one as long as it was maintained. But what about those listen/Video/various menus? |

I honestly prefer the submenus of Core as they are so there is no plan to go the monochrome path. Personally I like skins that are simple and stylish so I will not focus on more features, at least not now... Daniel

But I haven't got a clue what im doing^^ Maybe you could fix it? He posted his work this far to svn, but he couldn't finish it because of work with mp2 ![]() |

Country: | I think ALL skinners must be very clear on the first page if their skins are 16:9 or 4:3 or both. The images are 4:3??? I am stuck with my 4:3 for at least another year. So yes i am behind... If I can give my input on colour, Blue is to bright. Backgrounds must be dark. (for me anyway)
