Hi,

Since first TV3 versión I tried (SVN 15868), I'm having problems recording any satellite channel on my system. I can record terrestrial ones with no problem.

With SVB 15868, I could record some channels... some I couldn't. I realized that given a channel that I could record, I could also record any channel in the same TP (Frec.).... With last SVN, I haven't found any "recordable" TP (I didn't try all of them anyway, I'll do this evening).

.ts files are created, but can't be played (tried in MediaPortal, PowerDVD, tried demuxing with PVAStrumento and ProjectX). If I try recording in .mpg format, MediaPortal writes a 0 byte .mpg file.

It's very flustrating because I can't explain why timeshifting is working perfectly (which obviously writes .ts file to disk and play it) and I can't record ¿¿¿???... It's not a BDA driver bug, as other app (ProgDVB) records with no problem with its BDA module.

I could send you any log you need, but I didn't find any error or any interesting data into them. It would be perfect if you could "analyze" one of these .ts files, to see what's wrong with it. I've uploaded a 9 Mb compressed .ts file as an example:

http://www.mytempdir.com/2033404

Thank you very much for your support.

bye!

Ok... I did some more deep tests that could help...

A friend of mine who knows very well .ts streams analyzed the file I posted here... and he found problems related to pmt... as if .ts had many video and audio pids... Once analyzed those pids, only non-sense data found... He only found one pid with normal mpeg-2 video info... I tried myself to demux that .ts with projectx again... I got many errors, but I could extract that video pid in a .m2v file that I could play with no problem. I also found that Media Player Classic CAN play the .ts, but only that video PID.

Doing some more investigation with my sat provider (D+, Hispasat), I found that ALL CHANNELS HAVE SAME PMT PID (512) in tuningdetail table, which could have something to do with my problem... Then I switched to Astra and tried to record a channel in a TP with different PMT pids for every channel... NO PROBLEM AT ALL recording and playing back the .ts.

It's not a scanning issue, as I did the same scan with other soft, and I got same PID number for PMT in every channel of Digital+ package in Hispasat. I don't know if this behaviour is very "standard"... but also TV Cabo (portuguese provider also in Hispasat) has same PMT PID for every channel (817).

I would have loved doing same tests with other dvb-s card, but I only have a TT Premium SS1 card apart from this twinhan, and it's not supported in MP (and has no BDA drivers available).

So... little remarks:

- It SEEMs a problem with TPs where channels have same PMT PID (so PMT for every channel is broadcasted using same PID).
- I can't say if it's happening only in BDA cards, only in my twinhan BDA card, or it's a general problem (don't think so, as I didn't find any complain in this forum about this).

Hope this can help a little bit...

Thank you very much again.

Hello,
Seems to me a problem more or less similar to mine ( http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/br...ng-t28571.html ), but I'm not able to deeply investigate in .ts files as you did. I'm stuck at TV3 SVN 15725 (September, 2nd), which is working ok for me. Don't know which is the last good SVN (didn't tried each one), but I'm sure since 15780 (September, 7th) the problem is there. Also in the last SVN I'm trying, 16148.

In TSWriter.log I always find entries like this:

Quote:
09-10-2007 08:09:27 Recordertart Recording:'G:\_VideoRec\TG 5 MATTINA-Canale 5\TG 5 MATTINA-2007-10-09-8.00_1.ts'
09-10-2007 08:09:27 Recorder: PMT version changed from -1 to 22
09-10-2007 08:09:27 Recorder: pmt:0x100 pcr:0x200 video:0x200 audio1:0x28a audio2:0x28b audio3:0 audio4:0x0 audio5:0x0 video:0x200 teletext:0x240 subtitle:0x0
09-10-2007 08:09:27 Recorder: first PMT change, ignore it!
09-10-2007 08:09:27 Pcr new start pcr :1 days 01:43:40 451
09-10-2007 08:10:31 Jump backward in PCR detected! prev 1 days 01:44:43 893 new 0 days 17:51:47 253 diff 0 days 07:52:56 639 - pid:200
09-10-2007 08:10:31 Jump forward in PCR detected! prev 0 days 17:51:47 253 new 1 days 01:44:43 944 diff 0 days 07:52:56 690 - pid:200
09-10-2007 08:10:52 Recordertop Recording:'G:\_VideoRec\TG 5 MATTINA-Canale 5\TG 5 MATTINA-2007-10-09-8.00_1.ts'
I don't know how ts streams (and tv streams in general) work, so I cannot say if these are correct or wrong entries. But I see them only in broken recordings. More, the first "jump backward..." logged is the one which "broke" the recorded file. So, If I watch the file quoted in log, I can watch it for approx 1 min (8:09 -> 8:10), then image freeze, timecounter goes crazy, etc.etc... Sometimes this happens after some minutes, sometimes it happens as soon as recording starts.

Do you see similar entries in your log?

I've unchecked the "grab EPG while timeshifting", used mpg recording instead of ts recording, re-scanned channel a lot of times, but situation is still the same. I'll try to use the analog tuner (Hybrid card, Hauppauge HVR-1300 MCE) to see if is a DVB-T related problem, or a TV3 generic problem.

Could you try TV3 SVN 15725 just to check?

Sorry... but I think we've got different problems... I don't see these messages in log, and my problem is not related with PCR signal... It's related to the way the information of each channel (video and audio pids) are "announced" inside the .ts stream (through one PMT table instead of separate ones for each channel).

Hope you can find a solution anyway...

I think I experience the same problem has you!
some of my recording (in .ts) doesnt work!
Timeshifting always work...

I've suppected this because when I try to watch a recorded show that doen't work, I see a lot of audio tracks, and some, when selected, display the video stream, but with no audio!

I'm in NA on Bev 91 and 82
And use twinhan 102g

I'll check my channels PMT PID

Please test with TVE3 SVN version > 16442.

If the issue still persist please use following TsWriter to generate detailed log... http://day2.no-ip.org/TsWriter_logging_TS_16461.ax

Also please make sure that the TsWriter.log is deleted before making the recording that shows the corruption and that the log file contains only one single recording (and also no timeshifting...).

Sounds a lot like my problem. Can you download dgindex (google it or download here : http://neuron2.net/dgmpgdec/dgmpgdec.html). Then open the recorded file, then select stream, detect PID's. How many do you have? more than one (you should only have one for audio and one for video) my .TS files have multple PIDs and the MP tsreader doesnt support that (even though it was the MP tswriter.ax that created the file) If you do have mutlpe PIDs, try select one of them and playing that stream back. I'm convinced there is a problem in MP and I'm trying to prove it.

How about providing some logs with the TsWriter version in previous post? Without those no one is able to do anything for this issue.
