not a bug Bug? - Unsupported OS

I am trying to install 1.0 RC1 and the deploy tool is reporting 'Your operating system is not supported by Media Portal'; see .

This is whilst trying to install MP Client only.

I'm running XP SP2 and have previously had 0.2.3 running on the machine. Here's the verification of the OS:

There is no more detail and I can't find a log for the deploy tool - can any one help?

Many thanks,

Och

Make sure you have MP1 refresh.

Use either winrar or 7zip to open installation file by right clicking on it and extract with chosen unzip application, look for Deploy folder, mediaportal.exe is in there.

Have you got all M$ updates installed, strange it will not recognise OS.

I have MediaPortal_Setup_1.0_RC1_Refesh.exe.

If I run package-mediaportal.exe in the Deploy folder directly I get the same error. This file is marked as file version 0.9.1.0 and product version 1.0 RC1.

I have all updates from Windows Update installed.

Do I have to manually run the directx / VC++ redistributable update the DeployTool downloaded? The DeployTool says these are already installed.

Thanks,

Och

Definitively something in your system is screwed up, you are the only user reporting this issue

Sounds like time for a reformat and install of XP, if you have such a deep rooted problem with the OS not being able to be recognised.

Thanks for your time.

I've done a repair on the OS and all is good - well Media Portal installs even if I can't get the Client TV to stream from the server. On to the next problem!

Cheers,
