fixed New install (removed old one)

A new install of the 'refresh' package.
No I don't use MP for the TV
Advanced install
Use the install button at the top to get C++ install
Next
Finish

MP itself not installed!

Had to do the 'one button' install to get it on!!!

sorry, but your Thead topic and the description is confusing me

"New install (removed old one)"

what happened exactly? was old version removed now, or not?

please tell me step by step:
1. was MP allready installed
2. if yes which version?
3. when you were in the "install" screen of the deploytool, was "MediaPortal 1.0RC1" displayed green = allready installed ?

Default Same problem here

I uninstalled the old version deleted the empty folder start the deploy tool
all it shows in green regarding mp/tv server installation is

very old MP/Tv engine installation - entfernt - keine Aktion

then it creates an empty team media portal folder in the installaton folder- thats all.

strange thing about unistalation was that after uninstall media portal icons still were in start menue.
(and yes i really used media portal uninstall and did not simpy delete the files)

no it does not.

very old MP/Tv engine installation - entfernt - keine Aktion

^this means that no VERY old version of MP/TV-Server has been found. thats why -> "NO ACTION".
the translation is a bit wrong. because instead of "enfternt/uninstalled" it should say "not found".

only if MP 0.2.2.0 or earlier, or a very old TV-Server build which used MSI are found, something will happen there.

how do you expect that anyone can help you by providing only "it does not work" ???
please explain step by step what you did, and where exactly it fails.

Default ähm did say in post be4 but once again

I used the uninstaller and removed V0.2.3.0 (there was never any version < V0.2.3.0 installed - clean new system)
then i tried to install the new version- i get 3 lines green text of which the only one refering to media portal
is the one i posted above.
The inStaller then creates an empty folder Team Mediaportal in destination and thats all.

Ok to clarify (hopefuly!)

I uninstalled the old MP version (it was upto the last SVN revision for 0.2.3.0 RC3 before they were locked) by using the uninstall option within start -> Mediaportal then manualy remved the MP directories
I then Dl'd the MP RC1 Refresh version and ran it
Chose the 'I don't use MP for TV' option
then chose the 'Advanced' install option (I want MP on the D: drive not C: )
MP told me i needed the C++ package - so I clilcked the 'install' button at the top right.
MP Dl'd and instaled the C++ package then stopped
Clicking next took me to the congratulations page with NO MP installed!
As stated, just an empty MP directory.

I then chose the 'one click' install - that worked But instaled to the c: drive
I uninstalled using the 'everything' option and went for the download only option - then installed the psckage(s) manually.
MP now ready for testing

Phew!!

so you:
  1. uninstalled 0.2.3.0 (hopefully rebooted the PC too?)
  2. then started 1.0Rc1 setup
  3. then selected..... what?
