| HI there, I am trying to install MP 1.0 RC3 TV-Server but it either fails on the MS SQL Install or I get MySQl 5.0 installed and then not sure how to proceed with getting that setup. Dont have a login to create a table or anything? What is needed after a default MySQL install and MP TvServer is installed to get the setup working?

| Portal Member | Hi Tainted. The on-line document can help you setup SQL server, TV-Server - MediaPortal Manual Documentation There is also a tutorial video for Tv server and Client, MEDIAPORTAL - free media center - TV-Server Tutorial Videos Make sure you don't use "sa" for the SQL password. Stick to "MediaPortal" password, it's easier to remember. After that is done, run TV-server Configuration and scan for Tv channels, setup your timeshift buffer, and preview one of your channels. Next, run MP Configuration and setup your video/audio decoders for Tv client, and check the Tv-server hostname is correct. |
