The TVE3 is very good but requires the use of a capture card. When the source data is sent via UDP, it doesn't make much sense to have it converted to analog by the STB, and then digitized by the capture card for MP. We can also bypass external set-top box switching since tuning now only requires a change in the source MRL.

Cleaner input and faster zapping is all we're talking about here.

This sounds good enough for me.
Too bad i cant duplicate it with the lack of coding skills and info
But still, im confident you, Stinky, will do your best to further develop this way of getting MP into the IPTV world.
After all, this will give MP an edge over a lot of the other Media center solutions out there.
IPTV is the future.

Keep up the good work!

setup Stream1 input "udp://@239.255.0.1:9400"

2.4GHz Celeron processor was fine as long as you wait for VLC to ctreate the stream before giving Mediaportal the streaming URL.

I can now watch IPTV within the Mediaportal interface working with the associated EPG. I've tested with three different streams running at the same time to three different clients and it's holding up nicely. Downside is that zap time has doubled since VLC has to "tune" in the stream, and then Mediaportal has the tune it in again.
Hi there,

I have been trying to solve the same (?) issue for a while in MP, but am not knowledgeable (or smart) enough to figure it out.

I received my TV thru rstp://, but so far haven't been able to make it work in my TV (also tried the IPTV@UT plugin to no avail). I would so much like to have it integrated in MP so I can ditch all together my ISP's shitty remote control / video box setup.

I have been strolling the forums for a while now, and still didn't manage to extract info that helped me. This thread is so far the more promissing.

Would it be possible to describe the procedure to make it work using newbie (or dumb-ass) language?

Thanks in advance,

-nico
