By default, all channels will be selected to get the guide. This is not needed for Dish. You only need to tune to 1 channle for the 2 day OR the 9 day guide. Channel 200 will give you the 2 day guide. Channel 239 will give you the 9 day guide. Channel 119 on Sat 110 will also give you the 2 day guide.
Hi,
I'm not so expert as you but I'd like to use EPG.
I scanned all channels from hotbird with tvengine3. Then I went to tab epg grabber and I selected only channels interested and language filter italian.
From your post it seems that I was wrong.
To get epg I have to set:

2 Day = 119 - 12486 - TP19 - CH200
2 Day = 110 - 12516 - TP21 - CH119

Is it right?
How can I set one of these channel?
Thanks for the help.
Best regards

spinmar,

ASiDiE's post is only relevant to those of us in NA. The EU providers do things a bit differently. In EU, EPG data is sent on each and ever channel as far as I know where as NA providers send the enter EPG over one or two channels. In your case, in TVE3, just select all the channels you want to grab the EPG data for normally.

Hope this clears it up some,

CG

Default Bev Eepg

I saw this on DVBN. Does this affect the MP code as well?

I am only getting now and next on nimiq 1, I am assuming this is because epg has moved off of tp 4. Lyngsat it pretty slow for bev, so I can't count on it. Can anyone confirm and/or tell me what tp it has moved to?

Thanks.

EDIT: Found it, it's moved to TP 7 for those that care.

Lightbulb Any way to schedule an update to the EPG?

I got this feature working great in NA after setting the timezone on my server to -4 hours instead of -5 hours which is what is should be set to... but besides this, is there any way to schedule an update of the EPG?

Example, it would be great to have a way to schedule the TV service to grab the EPG from a specific channel of your choosing...

Does anyone else think this would be a great feature besides me?

You can already do this by going into the epg grabber and only selecting the channel you want to grab. Most people want the 9 day guide so I select channel 239. This takes almost an hour to grab and import so make sure you are doing it at night.

I usually just set it all up... grab the 9 day guide and then unselect all channels. I can go for about a week and then I do the whole process again.

It would be nice to be able to select an exact time when you want the epg grabber to run... Like every sunday at 3AM. Right now you can only set the delay timer and you probably don't want to do this because of the amount of ram the grabber uses.

Maybe 2 features.... Exact time epg grabber.. and then reboot the server after its done. Maybe even a scheduler to reboot the server.. like every night or once a week.. just to make sure everything is running correctly..

That isn't where some of us will run into issues... it is when we try to use more than one provider... ex: Dish and Bev at the same time. I only have channel 239 for Dish and 615 for Bev check-marked in the EPG Grabber setup... but if I don't watch any tv for a couple days (its so hard to find free time these days...) then the next time I go into the program guide, I will have no EPG for Bev and the guide for Dish will be short by 2 days or more. Its too bad that Bev doesn't have a 7 day guide...

So I think it would be great to be able to set a schedule where 3-4AM the Dish guide would update, then from 4-5AM the Bev guide would update... and then have an option to allow any scheduled TV recordings to interrupt the guide download (just in case).

What do you think?

Yes this is right, I,ve tested Nimiq 1 and the 2 day EPG is on TP7.
I've selected VuF2 and hit "EPG refresh" et voila!

Thanks GEMX, this is a very useful function.

Now if you could take a look at custom LNB settings per satellite for 22khz switch

Bump... thanks gemx for getting this working. Still missing the odd show in the EPG, but no big deal :0)

What IS a big deal for me is the logical channel numbering thing (that was fixed by Codemonkey in the old TV engine). Any chance you could work your magic again? Would love to be able to just type "301" for HBO rather than having to scroll through the guide.

Cheers :0)

Have this already on my todo list but at the moment there is a feature freeze so we can concentrate on bugfixing.
Just be patient

I have Dish Network and am located in San Diego, CA. I just installed TVE3 SVN 15025 but I don't see where to setup the EPG for Dish Network. Please help.
