We are also planning create a front-end to TVE3 to linux in C language.

But a non .NET alternative is needed.

In some cases like a handheld device the .NET enviroment is not avaliable.

There is no plans from the developers to expose an xml-rpc or SOAP based API?

why not using mono?

I believe mono can compile on ARM processors etc so it should support some handhelds
