New fields in tv db

I submitted a patch to sf a while ago with some additional fields for the program db, rtv pointed out that there are different methods in various countries of populating some of those fields if they even apply to that specific country. I dont think the sf patch comments is a great place to discuss it and I would like to get some input from others on various approaches that could be taken, what I am proposing:

1. instead of appending additional info (repeat, rating, original air date, etc) to the description, a new varchar field is created for this. that way if somebody doesnt want this info to show in the description it wont.

2. i am by no means an expert on various country epg data, if there are can people maybe chime in and hopefully we can figure out a common schema for these additional fields in program data? I am talking about things like original air date, movie rating, television advisories, etc...I am totally up for figuring out a common schema but I don't know where to look to learn about other country epg data. If somebody could point me at some resources for this that would be great.
