Just to make sure you are not confused by what the plugin does:

Does the TV Scheduler management console show any programs in the Upcoming Recordings? Because it is these that are synchronized with TVE3, not the schedule itself (which would be impossible).

Excellent idea! I will show the default values when the pre- and/or post-recording are disabled.

Hi dvdfreak,

My mistake probably. Now the recordings from your app sync with TV3E schedule. Works like a charm

UPDATE ALERT

I just uploaded a new beta release!

Beta release (November 14th, 2007)

Changes since the previous release:
  • Added channel edit panel to the management console. You can now change the order of channels, their name and the link to the guide,...
  • Added channel groups, complete with a management console edit panel.
  • Added the new channel groups to the TV Guide and schedule editing panels.
  • Schedules list and log list are now sortable by clicking on the column headers.
  • Switched to a complete new setup based on WiX. The service is now also automatically started at the end of the setup.
  • Added EPG synchronization thread to TVE3 plugin to sync TVE3's EPG into TvScheduler for DVB-EPG users.
  • When editing a schedule pre- and post-recording times that are not active (checked) now show the defaults.
  • Some small fixes to the management console.
PS: if you are upgrading take note that the new setup installs the service in C:\Program Files\dot-i\ instead of C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\, so if you have a scheduled task running for your XMLTV file, be sure to set the path to the new location.

I was not happy discovering that the entire db of TvScheduler was wiped out after the upgrade....

Bug:
- Exception in DataGridView (see attached image) (this is throwed many times)
- The TvScheduler service cannot automatically start after setup (error message "impossible start... timeout...")
- sorting of the recording list is lost after a record is edited

Improvement suggestions:
- position on the guide list is lost (restart from top) after record is added
- build a global tv program's list sortable by name and category (like the search in My TV)

Bye,
Midget

Well, normally there should be an upgrade performed, depending on what version you were running. If the upgrade fails, and apparently it did on your machine , then the entire database is recreated. Sorry about that, but this is still beta software

In what panel are you seeing this, and after what action?

I was afraid the new setup might have some issues. When you manually started the service after the setup, it worked first time? Anyone else seeing this problem?

Hmmm, not really a bug, but yes, it might make sense to remember the previous sort order when updating the list. I'll change that.

Can you explain the last suggestion in more detail? Sort of a search? Do you mean the screen where you pick the first letter of the title and you see all programs beginning with this letter?

Some sort of "search guide" panel might indeed make a lot of sense, I'll put this on the road-map of features still to add

Thank you for testing!

PS: I'd like to fix that datagridview bug ASAP since that is rather annoying one. More details to help me reproduce this are very welcome!

Sorry.... in TV Guide panel.
I was reading the entire guide to rebuild the schedule. After some time (days and channels changed, recordings added) it throws the exception (and panel emptied with a big red X). Changed panel, back to the guide, after some time it appens again. It seems apparently random.

Yes. Started first time manually.

The TV Server was running at the setup time. Could be the cause ?

I doesn't remember exactly every program's titles worth of schedule. So I've to look through the entire TV guide to found them. I've to scan every channel for every day in the guide. During this operation I'll see the same tv programs (ie. recurring tv shows) again and again.

What I would like is a single big list (sorted alphabetically or by category) of every tv program on every channel on every day. Obviously the repetitions have to be removed.

You can see exactly what I mean in My TV in Media Portal: the last button on the left named "search"

Bye,
Midget

So you had the guide open while the new data was coming in? Perhaps that causes the problem, because I tried to reproduce this yesterday evening, but was not able to get the exception.

No. I was reading the TV Guide "by hand" in the panel. The xml was already be imported previously.
I was simply scrolling the list up and down, browsing days and channels.

The exception was thrown several times.

Midget

A little teaser, this is very early days yet, but I couldn't help myself to try out myself to see how flexible my API is to be used from a web frontend...
