I added a "Now" button to the Web Access TV guide (an obvious improvement some might say ).

So I need German and Italian translations for the following two strings: the button text "Now" and its tooltip "Current date and time".

In the mean time I'm also wondering if anyone wants to translate Web Access to any other language than Dutch, German or Italian...?

Hi dvdfreak,

Were you able to find any more clues to the problems reported in posting #665? I've had exactly the same issues with 1.0.15.0 as reported in this post.

When I went back to 1.0.12.0 the problem went away.

I use an SVN from Feb 9th.

Best regards

/Peter

I've been busy with implementing the new recorder/tuner support in TV Scheduler.

The new version will have a new plugin for TVE3 which as far as the user interface is concerned will look very similar, but underneath it will be working in a totally different way. However, I have kept the EPG syncing feature since I know this is important to many people.

But what confuses me about your posting #665 is that you first say you don't need the EPG syncing anymore since you have an XMLTV source for all your channels now, but then you continue to report an error where TvService.exe crashes if you enable the EPG syncing... So you still need it after all?

I'm not sure what causes the problem and have not had time to try and reproduce this. What's strange is that noone else has reported this problem in the two months since you did. But perhaps noone is using the EPG-syncing after all...?

Anyway, I'm going to be testing the new TVE3 recorder/tuner soon and I'll make sure to also try the EPG syncing then!

Perhaps a really stupid question: but when you switch from one TV Scheduler version to another, you do also upgrade/downgrade the TVE3 plugin itself, right?

My apology for not being as clear as I could have been on this...

The posting was not originally from me but I've had the same problem with the TVService/TVScheduler starting up after reboot. The error message listed in the posting is exactly the same as I had in my event log.

I do not use EPG syncing, instead I have a scheduled task that copies the tvguide.xml file to the TVScheduler directory.

No question is stupid and in my last change I kept the SVN from Feb 9th and just replaced the TVScheduler with 1.0.12.0 since I had problems with 1.0.15.0. I wanted this version as you implemented the export/import function I asked for earlier. The combination of the SVN from Feb 9th and 1.0.12.0 seems to work well.

I have not tried with more recent SVNs of TV3E since this one works well and it stable enough to keep the WAF an acceptable level...

Don't worry too much about this error. It works now and when I eventually decide to upgrade TV3E I might also install the latest version of TVScheduler at the same time. Perhaps they will work better together.

Cheers

/Peter

Ah OK, so the TVE3 service simply crashes always then? Whenever the TVE3 plugin is enabled? And there are no errors in the eventviewer nor in the MediaPortal TVE3 logs (this is where my plugin logs)?

OK, but I meant to ask if you've always updated TV Scheduler's TVE3 plugin whenever you upgraded to a new version?

I worry about every error

But since I'm changing a lot to the internals right now it's probably best for me to recheck everything with the latest versions of everything.

A friend is also helping out lately, and working on other recorder/tuners. We're not sure if we're going to do more "closed" beta testing before uploading a version here again. But in any case we'd like to get things as stable as possible.

It's also very unfortunate that (as far as I know) there is no clean way to do a version check when you write a TVE3 plugin. I always worry that new SVNs will break my TVE3 plugin without a clear indication of what is wrong...

What is the use of this button ? When you have explored the tv guide and you want to go back to current date-time ?

In this case you could translate [Now=Adesso] and [Current date and time=Data e ora correnti]

Bye

Thanks! That's exactly what that button does, yes

For the German translation I've used "Jetzt" and "Aktuelle Datum und Zeit"; should be right but feel free to correct me

Hey, it has to be: "Aktuelles Datum und Zeit". (current date and time)

edit:

But it sounds a little bit strange. "current date and time" could be also "at the present moment" - the german translation therefor is "Zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt" - that sounds better in german.
