Ok...this looks good - can't test till the w/e. Does it also get EPG data for the encrypted sky channels?

Yup,

The file you have will only get the titles at the moment.

there is a problem with the Summaries(size uncompressed is huge), so once I sort this out I'll post another.

Sounding better and better Wont be able to test this till Friday/Sat so you have a couple of days to sort it

The reason I asked is I have 4 sat feed, 2 fron subscribed sky boxes, FireDTV all FTA and FreeSat and S2-3200 for freesat only.

I guess I would need do a full scan on one of the cards...does this link in with read EPG only feature in TvServer for channels?

Have a load more questions but might wait till I test it before I bring them up...

Cheers

Yup,

it links the channels via the info stored in the database.

So....(and I know this is way outside EPG data) if sky change there line up (as with the recent Music channel renumber).....could you update the channel number under the analog tab for each channel.....that really would be something....but it would only be of use for those of us that have a card and STB.....so outside the design params I would say....

The way the channels link in the TVServer is by Network Id's, Service Id's, And Transport Id's so no not really. However I am able to get the Sky Number as well so in the future I suppose it could be included.

It does not necessarly have to been done during the scan, if the link data you use and the channel number are written out as a, say a csv, it should be possible to use this file to check and update the DB, check channel number, sort in to sky channel order etc. Been trying to find a list like that for while...currently have some SP's that do this on a limited scale based on a file I manually keep up to date.....direct data via sky epg feed would be far better...

Ok, so I have now sorted the memory problem.

But, to get the full 8days epg you will need to select 2 channels for the full epg to download.

These are

"EPG Audio Background" and "IEPG Data"

these are radio channels, so you need to go into the radio epg grabber.

What the TSWriter that I have updated does is writes a little txt file in the TVServer root so it knows which half of the 8 days to grab. I will upload the file in a couple of hours.

I am currently stress testing it. But to let you know you should all have 8 days of 570 channels on 28.2e.

Bad News I'm afraid,

I have tried my hardest to implement this into the TSWriter however the TVService is eating up to much memory. I have tried to keep everything compressed until the last minute but when the EPG is being sorted to input into the SQL Server the Memory usage is going over 1.8 gig thus kicking in the Virtual Memory and slowing everything down.

However,

I am now going to write an program that will convert the stream into an XMLTV file.

This will take a while however it will integrate straight into Media Portal. Sorry for the delay.
