Country: | I was missing a smart scheduling (for series) in mediaportal. (My wive keeps asking: where is my recording when it changed to "manual") After searching this forum, I found a very old solution: I modified Mediaportals TVServer with an old patch (originally coming from dvdfreak) (svn-patch 13532) and reworked it so its working again. I assume (not tried yet) it will "reinvent" Mantis 1022 and 1029. Maybe someone (me?) can fix that later. If anybody is interested: here's the patch (for SVN 20500). If anybody needs a compiled version, please let me know. (Other patches I use: 1. I had to revert patch 20278 as it broke DVB-S 2. Smart stretching patch (should be in SVN for my opinion) from this forum) to dvdfreak: I hope it is ok to provide your old patch, otherwise i will remove it |

Country: | I presume you know about dvdfreak's new plugin called ForTheRecord?

| Portal Member | Of course I have no problem with someone digging up my old patch ![]() However, two remarks: 1) Back then, the patch was removed by the development team for some reason, so you may want to investigate why. I never got the details myself. 2) Like rekenaar already pointed out, For The Record is lightyears beyond what my original patch did, so you may want to check that out and use that instead Version 1.3 will be released later this week, and will also provide you with live TV if you want to wait for that.

Someting simple like: - I press button to record the live program on current channel - MP asks me time duration of recording (30mns, 1h, 1h30, 2h, ...) - MP asks me the action i want to perform after recording finishes (suspend, ...) with defaut action as plugin parameter. | |||

Country: | @Southpark is this patch working for you? I'm searching for exactly this. Or do you use For the Record now? If you do with which skin and does it have such a smart logic? |

Country: | The patch is working (at least for me) but really reintroduces at least one of the two bugs mentioned in the first posting. When recording two following series on the same channel, recording of the second show is starting some seconds after first one ends (recordings not overlapping). I'm still not using ForTheRecord. Because of my Mediacenter being instable from time to time (vista OS...) I decided to switch to Linux and MythTV. But this will take some time. Meanwhile I keep this small patch working. The patch is independent of the skin as it changes the tvserver and its tv plugin for mediaportal. (changes only the behavior of repeated schedules) I could send a compiled version of the tvserver tonight, if needed. |

Country: | @Disaster123 please find the attached compiled version. (from friday) It works for me. The mediaportal package includes the smart stretching fix for my 16:9 screen (replaces Pan&Scan). Please dont get me wrong, Mediaportal is great software and working very stable... but not rock stable as my wive expects it. Sometime, wakeup from standby doesn't work or it just locks when watching tv... I will test MythTV as it now should support DVB-S2 ( by patches) and H.264 (can use CoreAVC Win-Codec). Of corse Bluray is still not supported because of copy protection... |
