I was just combining your reply with Frodo's post which seemed to include the most relevant features of MediaPortal, perhaps trying to stimulate a bit of healthy competition?

I was actually thinking of something similar - a cut down, TV-only application

Basically - set-top box software for a PC

stick it on a lowely via epia-m 1000 etc and play away!

so u can open stream.play/pause continue?

u can't start TS or stop TS, so u still need to go inte server and start the TS?

If samposoft does not has any problems with it, i would like to combine the control with my app.
Then we a have a small, light-weight TV Client for MP.
