I've got a problem that the XMLTV2 plugin seems to hold open the TvGuide.xml preventing me from copying a new one over the top (or deleting). I have to stop the TvService before I can do anything with the TvGuide.xml file.. This doesn't occur with the standard XMLTV plugin.

No one else seems to be having this issue?? So I'm not sure how my system is different?

Any advice would be welcome

I can reproduce the the problem by doing the following:
TVServer>Plugins>XmlTV2>Mapping>Refresh The file now locks. So if I was unware of this problem (which I was) I would complete my config, exit tvserver and then after a few days I'd wonder why my tvguide was not updating! After cliking refresh in the plug-in restating the service is the only way to release th file.

Laban thanks for all your hard work on this plug-in, it's much appreicated.

Cheers,
mcreanz

Do I have to use tv server to use this plugin or can I use V0.2.3.0 RC3? As I am having problems and think this could solve them. My problem is posted here http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/ma...ue-t30588.html is this something that may solve my issues? Thankyou

You have to use the TV-Server. Not sure if it would solve your issues but you could always check it out. And let me know if it doesn't work. Preferably with the tvguide.xml and/or logs attached to the post.

Hi all,

Just a quick question (hopefully not a dumb one)...

I have been using Frodo's XMLTV plugin for a while...upgraded to the latest SVN tonight, but can't find any mention of any XMLTV plugin in the TV Server config program...

Do I have to do something to make it appear so I can configure it?

Thanks in anticipation,

Alfrescoid

Check that you have the plugin in the plugin directory.

I did a mistake when I replaced it with the new version.
The next SVN will have it

Thumbs up works great!

Hi Laban,

I had an issue with the original xmltv plugin in TVserver (some channels' programs would not be imported for no apparent reason).
I just tried your xmltv 2 plugin, and with that everything works great!

Thanks for creating this plugin

Johan.

Just got the latest SVN and thanks gibman...I can now see and configure it. It looks awesome, but unfortunately throws up an error, which I can only partly read, as the test goes off the window...

"Invalid XML filetartIndex cannot be les" is all I can read...

Anyway, not sure if I could fix it even if I could read the entire error

I am trying to import the file located here... http://xmltv.locost7.info/Perth/OztivoPerth.zip

Is my procedure so far correct?; 1. download file. 2. Unzip it to MP XMLTV folder and rename it to tvguide.XML 3. Run the grabber.

Any help greatly appreciated!
