Hi Kev, sorry re the delay, I've been away and unfortunately still not back at my PC.

My Setup (at work) is a Full SQL 2005 Server on one PC (SQLTEST) and TVServer running on another PC (LINDSAY). The downloader is running on the same pc as TVServer, i.e LINDSAY.

It just occured to me - the SQL server has a default name, its addressed just as "SQLTEST", not "SQLTEST\EXPRESS" - you're not appending "\EXPRESS" to the hostname are you?

Cheers - Lindsay

As I mentioned earlier I had version 11 running OK on my standard MP installation, when version 13 arrived. Once I tried the version, I started receiving errors whenever I tried to save or Reset Grid functions. So I tried version 11 again without success, the same error were coming up. The only version I managed to successfully install was version 8.
Today I installed new stable release of MP 0.2.3 and couldn't use newer grabber version 14 as it was coming with the same errors. Interesting enough the grabber version 11 worked fine now. Maybe this will help Big_Kev to find the bug associated with standard MP installation.
Anyway, I am happy to do any tests in order to resolve the issue as long as I know what to do.

Default ERROR message

Quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for update.
I have problem though running the program. Whenever I try to save or reset grid or just reload channels the program falls of with the fault:
"Access violation at address 0041D770 in module "oztvmprt.exe". Read of address 00000004"

After failing the 0.1.13 version I reverted back to ver.11. I don't understand why, it gave me the same error.
I uninstalled the program again and ran regedit to check for any traces, it was clean, nevertheless the version didn't work.
I installed ver 8 and it worked OK. I am puzzled.
Hi, I'm getting frustrated with the error message:

"access violation at address 0041D770 in module oztvmprt.exe Read of address 00000004"

Ok here is what i have tried: Windows XP MCE2005
-running MSSQL database with tv engine v0.3 MP 2.3 RC3. Tried both OzTVmprt.exe v1.1.8 and 1.1.14
-running MSSQL database with tv engine v0.3 MP 2.3. Tried both OzTVmprt.exe v1.1.8 and 1.1.14

-running MySQL database with tv engine v0.3 MP 2.3. Tried both OzTVmprt.exe v1.1.8 and 1.1.14
I think i even tried ver1.1.13 some where in there aswell.

All with relatively new SVN releases from the last few days.

I know this great program works well, because i had no troubles installing on my VISTA machice!! (MSSQL database with tv engine v0.3 MP 2.3 RC3. TVengine and SVN 13/10/01. OzTVmprt.exe v1.1.8

I think i've just about proven the fault has nothing to do with MP and it's setup, nor the database.
So what on earth is causing this?? any one?

Sorry that I have been so busy for the last few weeks,

I am planning a re-write of the application based on the EPG that I added to my Web Interface for MediaPortal.

I was planning on writing this as a service, to run in the background and download as per an internal schedule etc.

What do people think?

Kev

I don't know how many people are aware of this but nine and ten are now broadcasting EPG data for up to 7 days. Channel seven will join them on 1st January. http://www.freetv.com.au/media/News-...ide_141107.pdf
ABC and SBS already broadcast 7 days of data.

Unfortunately I only have one tuner card so I can only grab EPG data on the channel I am watching or when MP is idle so I will still be using xmltv for a while.

Making it as a service with internal schedule is a good idea, as some times I don't logon to Windows.

Making the EPG available as a service would be ideal for me - that'd would be great - I run MP on WHS so I rarely login to the server making services vital...

Seems a shame to run an older version (.8) with a single seat 2.3.0 MP installation to avoid the crashes. Hopefully the later versions will include some fixes.

Thanks for hosting the older version Jim.

Sorry S.O.P.

I am still working on that... It is a complete mystery to me why my SQLite components stopped working and nothing I have tried has fixed the problem.

It is looking pretty hopeless at the moment I am afraid.

I agree - thanks Jim from me too!
