I didn't want to offend. I just think it is better to have one really good system, then many less capable ones. Thats not to say the the small grabbers developed all over the place are less capable. Often they may be better then WebEPG, because they are hard coded to support only one or two sites. However, the installation for the users is worst, because they need to download/install a different program/plugin for their needs.

However, rather then develop these super customised grabbers, I would like to see the required features added to WebEPG. Of course WebEPG is a project I started, so I am a little bias

One of the biggest complaints I see (coming up again and again) is that the EPG system is (too) hard to configure and not as good as MCE. This will not be improved with lots of small specialised programs.

I have tried to find developers interested before but without much luck -> http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/ep...hlight=develop

Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack your thread.

I've just tried your grabber Krazz and it works perfectly. I only had some trouble getting the time setting correct. But that seems to be a native MP problem, judging from another thread

I agree with you. It would be best to have one grabber that everyone could use. The ideas I have for my grabber leads to that goal (in small steps). Right now it only support Swedish though.

What exactly is it that WebEPG needs help with? I didn't know there was anything wrong with it.

In what language did you code WebEPG? Maybe I could implement some of my functions into it (Combine and Rename channels for example).

I added the time difference combo-box for that. It seems that MCE users have a different time offset that MP users for some reason.

If there is nothing wrong with it why do you need to write something new ?

It is written in C#, all the code can be found in the SVN if you are interested in having a look.

I use VB.Net and I don't know the first thing about C# so I don't know if I would be of much help.

The reason I made my own grabber was because WebEPG and o2grabber (which is what I used last year) stopped working. I realised that the reason they stopped working was because the Swedish website where the information came from kept changing their contents and added other ways to stop grabbers. The programmers couldn't or wouldn't keep up with the website changes so I started my own project.

No one told me it wasn't working for SE? Petsa pointed out a few problems here -> http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/he..._0-t24399.html with one grabber, which I plan to fix.

What sites are you using?

Hi James and Krazz,

There was some problems with webEPG and dagenstv.com a while ago when they changed the layout of their website. It took a little changes to the grabber template to make it work again but it should be fine for most channels now as James pointed out.

I have not tried swedb.se so I'm not sure if it works better/worse than any other grabber-method. I agree with James I rather go for a method which is supported across the entire community rather than a country-wise approach. Having said that, if there are some clear advantages with another grabber, over the one I'm using now, I'd be willing to try it out.

/Peter
