Default Help: EPG update takes ages

Hi,

I am using a TVGuide.xml file that I wish to import in MP EPG. I indicated path to this file in the configuration program.
Problem is that I did this 2 hours ago and the EPG is still not complete : I merely have 8 channels with data and more than 40 without any information.
Hence my question: how does EPG update work ? Is there any way to make it faster, like running in the foreground instead of background processing ?
For information, I'm running TV engine 2.0.

I can't believe I'll need 6 hours everyday to update EPG listing?

Thanks a lot for your help

That may be the problem, if you unload those channels by unticking in setup\tvchannels and then doing a guide update, does it run fine then.

If not post logs please.

Unticking channels you want in the guide? I don't follow.

I have the same problem with RC3 and a FloppyDTV. The guide sometimes takes ages to load. Then again, sometimes 30 secs, sometimes it doesn't load at all.

Unmapped or incorrectly mapped channels from MP to whatever program is supplying the epg, can screw up everything, that is why i suggested "Turning Off" those Channels to see if that may be a solution, but the logs should tell us anyway.

How often are you updating your epg, are you using WebEPG, any particular channels you do not get info on and post your logs.
