Country: | I know it is possible to use the MCE 2005 EPG in North America using MceEpg2XmlTv , but is it possible to do this in the UK with Media Portal (so I can get its extended EPG)? I do have MCE, but when I used the MceEpg2XmlTv application it did not offer a UK option. Can it be reconfigured, or am I not using it correctly? Or is there another way? Thanks |

Country: | Hi Ran the MceEpg2XmlTv app, it found my dvb-t channels ok and produced a xml file. Tried to get MP to load this but it seems to have failed, could be the formatting wrong. Is it analogue or dvb you are after info for.

Country: | Strange, using Vista i can just run this without any different configuration, postcode everything is showing ok and downloading new update. Surely it is just a converter from M$ format to xmltv format.

Country: | It's got a Stars and Stripes flag as it's icon for the GUI, does that give you a clue that it is the same. Version 0.1.0.73 in properties. It is showing as Vista version though, maybe that is the difference from mce2005. Still would not use though, no more real info than i can grab from FTA.

1) MceEpgDownloader is a command line program to force the download of the EPG and also has the ability to change to a different headend for your configure postal code. 2) MceEpg2XmlTv is a command line conversion program that exports the data from MCE into an XMLTV file. 3) The GUI is a wrapper for the two command line utilities. I have pretty much abandoned further development on this program since Schedules Direct is now up and running and at a very reasonable cost. I will be releasing the C# source for the command line utils in the next couple of days though. I did not write the GUI so that source will not be included. | |||
