No EPG over DVB

Hey Guys!

Sorry if I sound like a noob...but I am!

I've ran into a bit of trouble setting up my EPG. I have tried using XMLTV and have managed to get some channels on there with EPG data but it was mix and match.

I am currently on Freeview DVB in the UK. I really only want the EPG data that streams with the signal but whenever I tick the box in configuration nothing happens.

What could be the problem?

You should tick all channels and at least the English language in the tvserver-tv channels as well. Look here as well.

BTW It will take some time to get all data available in the EPG, due to limited bandwidth of DVB-T.

Sorry, I should have mentioned I am not using TV Server. I would like to but I can't seem to get my head around it. I am trying to set up MediaPortal on a single HTPC. I get to the first screen where you choose either MySQL or Microsoft and the username/password bit wont let me through. Any ideas?

If you used simple install, then MS SQL is used, and password is a secret.

Update: I just switched on the HTPC and low and behold, the EPG is running. yay!
