| Hi. I've been searching for an Australian EPG for a while now, I've found oztivo but that seems too complicated to setup, and they often recieve problems. Is there any EPG for DVB-T Sydney users? I don't really care about descriptions, as long as I have a nice EPG so I can schedule things. Thanks. ![]() |

Country: | I also am using OzTivo and have been for over 12 months. During this time I have had to make changes at most 4 times and two of those were for daylight savings. I found it easy to setup and set and forget. It has been by far the most reliable grabber I have used. I only use FTA though so can't comment on Pay TV use. |

Country: | I used to use OzTivo but I found formatting inconsistencies and (the occasional) holes in the data a little annoying. I know I am picky but I hate UPPERCASE words in my guide as well as missing a show through missing data. Please don't get me wrong, OzTivo is great but I guess I'm a little lazy to have to tweak my guide regularly... Been there, done that. The novelty wore off after a few months. My solution was to use the IceTV service. Yes, it does cost money ($3 per week) but as they are/were fighting Channel 9's monopoly of the TV Guide data, I don't mind supporting them. It all depends if you want free data with some minor issues and tweaks occasionally, or something that just works with only two changes per year for daylight savings. I rely on a high WAF so 'easy' is good for me. I admit that I run a VBScript over the downloaded guide to get the channel names how I like them but I have had to do that for every guide I have tried anyway. As this script downloads the guide, changes the channel names and copies it to other PCs on my network automagically, as a scheduled task, all I have to do is twice a year adjust Mediaportal for Daylight savings and if I wasn't so lazy, I could automate too! Simple. :-) Good luck with whatever you choose, regards, Nick Name.

| Portal Member | I had the same problem, nothing seems to be simple, so I wrote my own simple software http://www.sharemation.com/lanmail/other/DlEPG.zip. you might need to visit http://d1.com.au/D1xmltv.asmx to help withe what to type although you will probably work it out for your self. if it looks useful I will try to get round to creating a web page/manual for it. it won't cover all channels, only the ones available as analogue. I am currently using TVxB for the rest but I might try webepg now that some of its problems are apparently fixed. |

Country: | If simple is what you are after, I agree with NickName that IceTV may be your thing? $100/yr at the moment. Sure, this is $100 more than other options, but it certainly is simple. (Wow, I just realized this is my first post after much lurking) Last edited by Hopkins; 2007-02-22 at 15:31. |

| Guys any body now how to get the epg to work for the tv server. If i play with web epg I am only getting 1 days data. I have a DVB-T card. Webepg is only in the media portal directory not the tv server. I also run snapstream Beyond tv with an analogue card on a different pc . For this I am able to download a weeks epg from oztivo. I would like to incorporate this in the tv server. I can't find any documentation on EPG in the tv server. |

Country: | You need to configure the TV server to point at the Mediaportal\xmltv folder and not at it's default of Mediaportal TV Server\ folder That's what I did and it worked although I no longer use the TV server.
