Default First Look

Just downloaded MP II, it started well, it showed it's GUI, but I could not do much, due to my laptop being unable to handle all the GFX properly. MP 1 works fine, but obviously requirements are beefed up for MP II....

What are the needed specs? Later I will check my HTPC, which has some more horsepower (my lappy is already 3,5 years old).

You will need to have .Net Framework 3.0 installed...

the requirements for mp2 should be about the same as for mp1.

we make some use of pixel-shaders, so it's good to have a directx9 graphics adapter that supports shader model 2.0.
however, if you don't have such one, shaders should be simply disabled by the engine and it should run also.

I just ran it on my desktop and it works as a charm. My laptop which has a GeForce FX Go5650 (which is supposed to be DX9) it is no fun at all. It might also because of Vista.

Another thing: I added a folder with pics to the library and unfortunatly had no thumbs when browsing them. I waited a little, started a slideshow etc., but no thumbs appeared. Normal?

Last thing for the moment: It is great that you can have views based on all metadata now. But I am lacking the most important EXIF information: Date Taken. In MP1 I added a view for that, MP II should be able to do this as well.

Another "last thing": Is the upnp server running as a service? Or is it only available when MP 2 is running?

Do you have to configure the IR Suite to work with an X10 Remote (Medion)? Or is there no support for the X10 yet?
