Initial thoughts

When I say it looks amazing I'm of course talking about potential, what I think can be done with what is previewed now. I thought this preview looked great, of course it has loads of bugs and lacks features, but what I see is potential - loads of it. THATS whats awesome =)

Oh dear - Should I just keep away from this "erm - discussion" then, if I happen not to agree with the masses?

Feedback is always welcome no matter if its positive or negative
But you asked me why we released it instead of showing a video or some screenshots.
I tried to explain our reasons for releasing it as you can read above.
I (think) my reply was not negative towards you , at least this was not intented
So no reason to bring this subject up about 'should i keep away'

Just to surmise - I dont like the new folder thing - some will, some wont, i dont

About the folders, i can tell you that will change in the next version

MP2 has, at the moment fantastic 'potential' that's all

I never take these things personally, and it's sooo hard to convey a tone into a post.
I'm not being negative - or I don't mean to be.

I hate the "this is the best... blah blah blah" when it is clearly just what it is - POTENTIAL.
If it does half of what you guys say it'll do now, it WILL BE fantastic!

Seems amazing. A great gift for christmas.

I hope for a better procedure than Media Portal 1 to build custom fitergraphs and full control of codec
video and audio as Zoom Player or KmPlayer features but in a real Media Center enviroment.

Agree totally with SpudR. I'll add that I hate the idea of configuration inside MP. I started a new thread on this, perhaps it will prompt discussion to see if its just me or not and if that opinion is shared by other users.....

that will not stay the only way for configuration

I think configuration within MP is a good idea although don't like the way that it's offered in the default skin ie next to the task image. Hopefully this is just a skin issue and configuration can have its own menu/sub menu?

the whole gui is work in progress (as everything else too )

That would be a good compromise, Nemulate. Keep ALL settings in a submenu. This is essential IMHO otherwise the clean feel of MP is lost.....

Incidentally, I was so annoyed with MP2 and its feel for the "humble end user" that I uninstalled it within 3 minutes. Maybe this was a release much too early for a user of my limited experience. Perhaps it should not be so prominent on the webpage, I was hoping for much much more than it delivered.

Sorry, its just an opinion of a non-developer end user.
