if you go throught all the feedback-posts then those "weird" replies are the minority. i allready expected that we wont get only positive feedback and that some ppl simply do not understand the meaning and the purpose of a "technology preview" or "alpha/beta" (even with fontsize=72, textcolor=red, bold ).doesnt make me "angry" either. because i once also didnt knew what these terms _realy_ mean. its always the same when developing software, isnt it? ![]() we have much work todo, lets focus on that. and not on this. ![]()

| @Frodo: Please don't let you get down by some people being disappointed. MP-II is exactly was it was anounced to be: A preview of what's possible. I for one didn't install it yet, as I'm not at home and only have my Laptop with a very poor graphic card with me. However, and although I gave up programming long time ago, I couldn't resist browsing through some code last night and I was very impressed. Very clean! Keep up the good work - and keep publishing new alpha versions of MP II ![]() cheers, /Michael |

Country: | Thanks for the preview, guys! It all looks really promising. I'm really excited about the whole thing and looking forward to help integrating MyLyrics into MP-II. With the well-structured and clever architecture it should be quite easy. Cool stuff. cheers Soren |

| Hi, Very nice! I'd like to give you my feedback for next development MP II. My dreams: 1. multiple hierarchical tags system for all media. Editable. For example as Tversity - UPNP server: http://tversity.com/support/tagging/ For all media type as picture, TV stations, etc. . With clever tools for "import" from MP3 tags, EXIF tags,.. + media items editor as possibility change or translate everything why? I always wanted to show someone all pictures with our cats tag: "My family.cats.Kubikula, My family.cats.Frantiska, media.type.picture" (one picture with 2 cats) - I can select and see all pictures with cats or only with Kubikula in next level of filtering... 2. Content menu by items type. What can I do with text, video, picture .. item? This can be define by tags only. I can get Kubikula as picture and video in one list. Action and content menu are different. For ex. slideshow with picture and video together 3. postprocessing menu for all media items (all type) and directories. For TV recordings cuting commercials (nice function in TV3), resizing, resampling, video, pictures, rotate by EXIF, deinterlacing, ... Implementation more filters like in ffdshow etc. Define templates and rules for development this "filters" (as plugins) for comunity of developers to develop single-purpose scripts and link with content posprocessing menu. Central management this filters and easy update to clients (by one click) 4. ONE modul in CORE MP II for "grabing" medias from internet - with tags and patterns in xml file. Like OOBA for XBMC. Patterns in xml file deside what MP show on the screen. list of items, Text, pictures, video.. . For ex. list of tv stations as 1. level and on line video as 2. level... I see lot a similar plugins in MP1 - for TV or video internet grabbing - similar code, huge redundant effort and strong independent to author of code. I see advantage for the future ONE code and MANY xml files (od DB items). One programmer, many developers of contents. :-) 5. same for podcast ... 6. Share of resources of media contents on internet by (with) community. One click to import items to the client, and same easy way or one click to export item to central point to share with others. With tags, of course. 7. Language - one obligatory item in tags system... all media items have tags = all items we can translate to native language. 8. better structure for CONTRIBUTE item on your web pages. Create structure of developers! More of us can work on xml files, translations of tags, ... I'm not programmer, but copy - improve - past I can do. :-). Sorry for my english. Nice work! Pavel |

| Portal Member | First of all many many thanks to all the people who worked on this, I think it is amazing taking in mind the time and effort people are putting into this! A quick question though, just a concern not to be critical or anything like that, is it me or is the GUI running very very slow? I just want to make sure there is nothing wrong with my system (AMD X2 4400+ with 1gig RAM running Vista). I think speed is one of the most important thinks for a HTPC, if you are able to make it lightning fast then this will definitely be THE BEST HTPC SOFWARE EVER!! |

Country: | About crashes Frodo; I think it crashes when you add more then one media folder at a time. Ill see if I can reproduce the crash tomorrow and if I do Ill attach logs. If anyone else want to try and duplicate it tonight I'm sure that would help. |
