Default SLOW

on my machine it is also very slow!

MP-I is ok!
My machine is also not the fastest on the planet.
AMD1800+ with Nvidia FX5200, so maybe the new GUI is to heavy, moving background etc.

I find the new MP2 to be fast and the PiP function is amazing. Keep up the good work. Can't wait for the TV part.

I played with it again and I found out that when I have the window at a small size it is nice and fast but when I manually make it bigger then it is almost unusable..

It's responsive and has nice effects. Congrats! Some cons:
  • The GUI seems to have a scaling problem. It isn't nearly as crisp as MCE and looks like an upscaled 800x600 graphic or so. If you like, I can provide screenshots for comparison.
  • All popups blink very short in normal state, dissapears and then shows up with this nice effect. This short blink should not occur.
  • I dont like the zoom-in effect on selected items. Besides my taste, it makes items disproportional big in popup windows.
  • Going to fullscreen is a dead-end (Alt+Enter does not return from fullscreen and there is no exit button).
Just my $0.02

Well guys,

The first thing I noticed was it's enormous slowness. While MP runs (graphicly) smooth, MP2 is like running it on a 386 . Probably because it's CTP state. For the rest: time will tell, but at the moment it looks very promising.

It runs very good on my Quad core(but all programs run well on that PC), but my Media Center PC is a dual core 2.1Ghz with integrated graphics. I expect it to run well but fear the system resource usage. Compared to MP1 I don't think the skin looks that good, so if resource usage is 2x MP1 imo it would be worth it.

For MP-II you need a decent graphics card
If your card is to low-spec then this will make MP-II slow

With a decent graphics card, MP-II runs fine here on a 1.4 GHz Pc with 1GB ram

to developer : do not forget about to filtergraph issue.
filtergraph control is a weak features for MP-I.
Imho should be improve it.
