Hallo MP-Team
I took a look at the MP2 preview and I looks really interesting. I'm one of the MP users who are disappointed on the lack of touchscreen support of Mediaportal 1 (as stated here http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mp...ht=touchscreen) and MP2 looks like having better touchscreen support than MP1 has. Well I know, there is the "new TouchScreen Display solution" (http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/ne...er-t32380.html), but this seems to be a solution for people who have two screens, one for displaying MP and the other (the touchscreen) to control MP. In my case, and I consider - I'm not the only one who would favour the support of this setup - I have one single screen (the touchscreen) to display MP and control it (I use it only for playing music, not for watching TV as the display is 7"). Now what I observed in MP2 is that almost every function is accessible with mouseclicks without using the keyboard and without the need of a mouse over effect. In the music player I only found two functions which are not accessable via mousclicks: 1. You definitely need the "Esc" button to leave a menu. 2. In the file browser for the music library there are no scroll buttons (so you need the up/down keys). Another small inconvenience is the disappearence of the OSD for music control (an option in the settings would be nice to prevent the OSD from disappearing) Now my conclusion is: I would really love to see full single display touchscreen support in MP2 (especially for music player) requiring to be able to control MP2 only by Mouseclicks without the need of a keyboard. Happy developing. Lolle |

Well, I have to correct myself. I tested MP2 again with the touchscreen and the support is already quite good (I figured out that clicking in the upper left corner replaces the "esc" button.) What remains is the disappearence of the osd for music control. Also some of the buttons are too small for finger usage, i. e. the page up/down buttons.
So far I conclude, that touchscreen support is much better than in MP1 and I hope that I can use MP2 someday as music jukebox with touchscreen. Good work, MP-Team. Lolle |

Hi All,
New to MP. Love it. Regarding touch screen control, how about remote touch screen using a PDA, communicating wirelessly with the server over bluetooth or IR or 802.11x over LAN. Just a thought. Edited to say PDA instead of PD and flesh out comms. Last edited by Apex-XT : Yesterday at 23:04. |
