Hey,
I've just recently started testing out MP and MPII and I want to start off by saying that this is some very nice work. Now on to the problem. Actually, one more thing before I move onto the issue. This is not meant as a complaint in any way. I just wanted to give the devs and the community a heads up on this issue and see if anyone else has run into this problem as well. I understand this is alpha software and so should everyone else using MP2. You don't complain about bugs in alpha software, you find them. Now onto the problem... When MP2 tries to create thumbnails for some fansubbed anime I have, it opens a new instance for ffdshow for every thumbnail it creates. The proble is that these instances do not go away once the thumbnail is created. So I end up having a lot of instances of ffdshow (both audio and video decoders) open after a while. This problem gets even worse if I go to multiple directories. Here's what I mean... ffdshow_problem.jpg Since this is my first post here, I'm not sure if that attachment worked, but I guess I'll check that after I finish posting it. Let me know if any of you have this problem as well, whether this is a true bug or not, and if this is something the devs think will be fixed in the future. I don't always have the time to contribute to projects through code, but I try to bug report as much as I can, and any feedback on this is appreciated. Thanks Team MP. Keep up the good work. |

Hey guys,
I checked those settings prior to asking the question (and again afterwards to make sure it wasn't just my mistake). Even with the "use only one instance" option selected, it still uses multiple instances. I'm not sure why this is. In all of my attempts, I may have gotten only one set of icons to appear in the tray, but the RAM/processor usage still incrementally increased to some absurdly high amount. I've even tried re-installing ffdshow, getting the latest version, etc. Still have the same problem. This is odd. Thanks for the help guys. |
