My videos and sorting by date doesn't work

MediaPortal Version: 0.2.1.0
Windows Version: XP Pro

I'm having some problems with sorting videos by date. It doesn't work, it sorts them in some random order which is completely wrong. The videos are stored on a network mounted unit (SMB).

Anyone have any idea/solution ?

On all versions of MP I find sort by date works for files, but folders are still sorted by name, which seems strange.

Yeah that seems strange and since almost all my files are in folders it might explain things.

It's one of those things that I keep planning to raise as a bug but then keep deciding to wait for the big things to be fixed first. As a result, I never file it. There always seems to be other things ahead of it

Im looking into fixing this bug since Im guessing you guys are busy with other stuff.

The problem is that date/time isnt grabbed for directories since FileInfo doesnt work on dirs you have to use DirectoryInfo.

Is it ok to use DirectoryInfo in "FileInformation.cs" to update CreationTime and ModificationTime and add FileInfo for dirs aswell, from a design pov ?

I installed the latest SVN and it still doesn't work? So where is the patch applied?

It has been applied to SVN for a while now and it works for me, atleast in Videos and Music I don't use the others so haven't tested them much.

Please give some more info.
