Question HP Mobile remote compatible?

This is my first post and my first day of using the program but I want to know if the HP Mobile remote that comes with HP Pavilion laptops is compatible. If it is, tell me how to get it to work. It might be a stupid question with a simple answer or there may be none at all but I am interested to find out.

Thanks for any little bit of help

if the remote looks like a standard MCE remote (if it has a green button then it probably is) then you just have to open mp config and go to remote control then select the MCE page and tick the "enable" box.

Some non standard MCEs may not work out of the box but post back here if that is the case.

You can also try the MCE replacement package (look in the download section) but I think just try this first.

Welcome to the forum, too

I have a DV9535nr laptop and I don't think it is. My guess is that it is some sort of (hacked) generic HID keyboard, because the buttons that work out of the box are up/down/left/right/enter (OK)/pageup/pagedown.

I've attached a pic of the remote. Perhaps if we could do some sort of generic IR remote trapping, we could use HIP to control MP (although, my current attempts at doing so aren't working out so well .

Another option I was thinking of was to see if there were some way to remap the generic k/b commands, so that page up/down could be remapped to at least "return" to the home screen....

Any thoughts anyone?

Are you a MP developer? How would you know this type of information? No disrespect is intended, I'm just curious

Has anyone got this remote to work so that you can return to homescreen etc. Up, down, OK, sound (not mute) works, but want to be able to return to homescreen + return to previous screen..

I've never gotten it to work properly with MediaPortal, just the default Quickplay and Media Center
