short testing report:
-had of course to edit gentle.config file and entered correct user and password for sqlserver
-sniffed a little and opened TCP port# 31456 and 1032 and UPD port# 1434 on mp server for mptvclient and TCP port# 554 for vlc player to work!

I tried to modify the gentle.config file but I'm not sure if I did right.
Still error msg: connection to tvserver broken
Could you please be so kind to advice me how to modify the gentle.config file for mysql use.

Im using the sqlserver on my server and still gets the "connection is broken" error

Ive tried modifying the Gentle.config file to the user and password for the sqlserver

ive also tried to copy the Gentle.config from my mediaportal setup (which works) = still no luck!

what should the host name string look like in the configuration option should it be "\\server" or just "server" or should it be ip becoz ive tried em all and none of them will connect me 2 the server, also tried disabling all firewall and still no luck!

Hey Gemx,

I am trying your TVClient - awesome idea!

I have one issue with VLC though, it plays back all glitchy and nasty. However, in MP - the genuine MPTVclient - it stream fine.

Have you ever come across this issue?

This used to work fine for me, now with later SVN's I can connect just fine and see the guide but when I try and watch something VLC opens and just sits there trying to play the stream. Has anyone else noticed this?
