Default Can't open MP sln file with VS.NET 2003

I just downloaded the MP source from the SVN and when I go to open the MediaPortal.sln with VS.NET 2003 it says that this solution cannot be opened because it was created with a newer version of Visual Studio. I though this project was built with VS.NET 2003???

Ah, that sucks. I develop for Beyond Media and that requires VS.NET 2003. And this requires VS.NET 2005. Stupid Microsoft and its incompatibilities, ugh. Does anyone know if both IDEs can be installed and used at the same time?

Its not do to incompatibilities - its because MP runs on .NET 2.0 and VS was updated for that, hence VS2005. VS2003 is for .NET 1.1 only. A new version of the .NET framework was released by Microsoft to support new language and windows features. VS2005 has some nice new features too for .NET 2.0.

Both the .NET frameworks run perfectly fine side by side, as do the two development environments.

You may just use the VC# Express Version, it is free from MS.
